Ebay Problem - Seller won't send item!

My son asked me to bid on a game for him and he won. I paid for the auction the next day through PayPal. Both PayPal and Ebay show that the item was paid for. :thumbsup2

It had been a week and we still had not received the item, so I emailed the seller asking them when it was sent out, and got no response. The next day, I emailed him again at his AOL address which I got off of PayPal. He emailed me back saying that he would like to send the game out, but he had not received payment yet!:scared1:

I let him know that he had indeed received payment through PayPal a week ago and to please check his records. I also told him that if he wasn't going to send the item out to refund my money to PayPal. He has 100% feedback on Ebay, so I had no reason to doubt him.

My question is - what recourse do I have as a buyer? I paid for the item through PayPal from the account I have listed with them, not a credit card. I know there is a delay sometimes with the money showing up in the seller's PayPal account, but it has been over a week now so it should be there.
Can I do anything with PayPal to get my money back? :confused3 What about Ebay?
 
I think you're jumping the gun a little bit. How long has it been since you confirmed that you have, in fact, made the payment to him? If it's really not showing up on his end then there's obviously a glitch. Perhaps you can call Paypal and ask for their assistance. Maybe they can see where the problem is.
 
How did you pay thru paypal? Instant payment or echeck? If it was echeck then he is probably waiting on the payment to clear before he ships out the item.

Did you pay by eCheck? That takes time to clear. If it was an instant payment, it should have gone through immediately.

Make sure you did send an instant payment, then ask if he did check his records. It should be right on his my ebay page.
 

Did you pay via paypal e-check. It takes a few days for that type of payment to clear into the sellers account. As a seller you would never ship before the payment has cleared into your account because technically you haven't received payment yet. The money is out of the buyers acct., but hasn't hit the seller yet.
 
One time I had this problem where someone said they paid me, and it showed up to me as pending. Where somewhere along the line, ebay changed my paypal back to an old email address I used with my account. The email address was invalid, so I could get the payment. I forget exactly what I did, but some how we had to get it refunded back to her and then she paid the correct address in the account.
