Hey all!

So I sold a few items on ebay to the same buyer and sent it via Media Mail on April 21. Media mail takes 4-14 business days if not longer. Long story short, the buyer, without ever contacting me, decided to file a complaint with paypal stating he never received the item. Paypal wants a response from me. The three choices I have are 1. refund payment in full 2. provide tracking info 3. prove the buyer has already been refunded.

Well, none of these work for me. I didn't have tracking on the item. And quite frankly, it's only been 9 business days. Paypal offers nowhere for me to explain this! They want a response by May 13 and I leave for Orlando on May 10! What should I do? I still have the receipt from the post office proving the item was sent.

Please Help!!! :hourglass :guilty:

Also, I just checked the buyer's Ebay account and suspiciously he is no longer a registered member! Now What!?

What a mess! I am really getting down on ebay lately. I guess I would go with option two and then either type in a 0 for tracking or trying to type in media mail where the tracking # should go. Don't know how that would work for you, but it would still be responding. If you don't respond, you lose right away. Also, I was thinking...what if you filed your own dispute? If you do it with ebay, you would win right away since they are no longer a registered user. That just wouldn't solve the paypal problem. But since none of those given options from paypal would work for you, maybe you could open a paypal dispute that would allow you to type in your problem? Just a thought. I have not had that problem show up yet. I stress yet because we have had many other issues!! :confused3

$%^&!! Paypal is THE worst! LOL. I put a zero in the tracking number field and it took. Problem is, they took it as a tracking number and as a response to the claim! LOL. I guess I'm going to have to call them in the morning. I tried emailing them but they want the email in the form of ONE sentence! What a joke!

You type in the sentence. And then it goes to a place that will hopefully solve your problem (a.k.a. answer the one sentence question). If it doesn't then just scroll down a little and their should be a box that you can type in a 1000 word letter to them.

Hate to say it, but with paypal if you don't have that tracking #, they will more than likely give him his money back. You must have delivery confirmation, on everything you sell these days. I use stamps.com, and its free with priority mail, and .13 cents with any other mail class. I think your only hope is that he isn't registered with ebay anymore.

Have you emailed the buyer to find out WHY they did a PayPal claim? I think I would have done that first thing.

We just had bad luck with Pay Pal. My wife made payment through them and didn't receive the item. When she e-mailed the seller, he admited that he sent it to the wrong person and would try and get it back and send it to her. She notified seller that she would file a claim if she didn't hear from him within 24 hours that he was refunding her money. She didn't so she filed a claim.

Pay Pal said they would investigate, but wouldn't guarantee a refund...hello, protection is why you pay them a fee to use them! About a week later we got an e-mail from the seller saying the reason he hadn't replied was because he had been sick and would refund, but he had to re-verify his Pay Pal account (stalling tack-tick). We checked his rating and found over 100 complaints within the past month all with the same story.

Pay Pal replied saying that they ruled in my wife's favor, but there was no money in the seller's account so unfortunately they couldn't give us a refund. So you know what. We called our Visa company and explained that we never received the merchandise and the seller admitted that he mailed the item to the wrong party and Visa said they would refund our money and retrieve it from Pay Pal! They may come up with some excuse, but at least we have the satisfaction of having disputed the charge with Visa and causing some heart burn for Pay Pal.
