Ebay experts - help!

I sold some things on ebay ten years ago and think I need to get back into it. But someone told me the fees are outrageous now - 10% of sales! Is this true? Not sure if I want to try the Craigslist route or ebay again.

Between ebay and paypal my fees usually average 15% of the sale. Don't know that that seems outrageous to me. I'm used to paying 40% of sales for local consignment sales and not making anything at a garage sale, so I guess it's a matter of perspective. I don't feel comfortable having strangers come to my house or call me for craiglist either.
