Ebay experts!! A question!

My dgf has a store on ebay with over 700 items listed. She was using an AOL email address but since it was her Mom's account and it was going to be canceled, she used a new email address. Ebay is telling her that she needs to change the email address on ALL 700+ items INDIVIDUALLY! Please tell me that can't be right. For all of the "hooks" Ebay has in selling and buying, they would put users through hell like this? She's literally spent hours listing the stuff. Now this...

I went through a similar thing when i changed email addys. Once the item is listed, Ebay cannot alter the listing (sans ending it). So, I had to keep the old addy for the listed itmes and then start fresh after they were ended and paid for. Is she having more of a Paypal issue, or with the actual auctions?
(ie, when you change your profile in Ebay, current auctions are not affected)

And, I wanted to add...i totally understand her frustration. It takes ALOT of time to list that many items.

In my case, I changed my email addy under Ebay and Paypal (in my profile). (not realizing my current auctions would not be changed) Well, little did I know, my buyers could not pay me because Paypal would not recognize the old email addy. So, I had to go back in and change back to my old email addy to accept the payments and then change the addy after they were all paid for.

Does that make any sense?

(just wanted to add that I still had an active acct with the old email addy at the time even though I didn't use it any more, I am not sure what would happen if that email addy was invalid/closed??)

That's exactly the problem (getting paid) she's having. Sucks!!
