Ebates Cash Back on Disney Gift Cards?

I’ve seen this very question posted on the boards several times, and have always seen and provided the same answer: “Disney does not provide cash back on gift cards.” However, when looking around on the boards the other day I noticed a very active poster mentioned that you can use Ebates to buy Disney gift cards and get 5% cash back. I quickly went to Ebates.com and noticed their “special conditions” statement has changed from “Cash back is not available on Disney gift cards or park passes” to “Cash back is not available on DisneyWorld park passes”. Does anyone know if their policy has changed? Are they now providing cash back on gift cards? Has anyone had success with this?

When you go to ebates select gift cards under the stores tab. Looks like Disney isn't currently listed, but the offers are always changing, so maybe one day.

You do not get cash back from Ebates on Disney Gift cards. I ordered enough to pay for our trip a few weeks ago when the cash back was 10%!! I checked ebates website for Disney store exclusions and gift cards were not mentioned. When I did not receive my cash back, I questioned ebates and they said Disney gift cards are excluded. I sent a complaint letter that they should state this somewhere on their website!!!

I tried too. I had to send a letter to ebates when the cash back did not work. They told me that it was ebates policy NOT to offer cash back on gift cards (with a few exceptions) so that Disney does not have to post that they are excluded.
