Ebates 20% back for Orbitz tickets

If you're not going into a park, do you really need to upgrade it this weekend? Why not wait until you actually use it?

You could upgrade it without using it first, but you will lose the advantage of "bridging" the ticket from what you paid to whatever the current gate price is.

My understanding is that the Orbitz tickets are for particular dates - and I am not sure exactly when our next trip will be. I was thinking if I upgraded the Orbitz tickets to non-expiring, then it wouldn't matter.

They are not for particular dates. They have a range of dates that you are expecting to pick them up. They are regular MYW tickets and will not expire until 14 days after they have first been used.

I'm going to buy tickets today through them. But I'm debating on if I should do park hopper or not? We are driving. Not staying on site. Only doing Disney for 2 days (will be in Orlando for 5 days). It will be my husband, myself, and our kids, son 15, and daughters 9 and 4.

In that instance, no I would not buy a park hopper. You will have plenty to do in the 2 parks you choose to visiy

Hi!

Help! I'm a little confused and have a couple of questions regarding the purchase of WDW vouchers via Orbitz:

We are DVC members and my adult daughter & her friends are going down without us. However, should I put her down her name as the purchaser with her credit card even though I am the one with the Ebates account or use my name? Also, as they are all adults should I list their names in the space provided or leave it blank. After when we do get the voucher then can we just add them to the MDE (buying 8 tickets total) as they are worried about FP+ - (they are arriving in Mid May)!!

Also if you use Ebates can you get Orbitz rewards too?

As you can see I'm the Disney addict and planner so I'm doing this for them and don't want to mess this up ;)

Thanks and have a magical day!!

I am confused about the dates. Our plans are not set in stone. We plan to visit in July, but bc of my son's health condition it could change. If I put that we are visiting in July, but we don't end up visiting during that time will we lose the tickets? When would the tickets expire?

Thanks op tickets purchased, condo paid in full and still have 550.00 in Disney gift cards I was going to use towards tickets. Guess I can book a couple of character meals now.

You can be the purchaser. There is no need to add names unless one of them will be picking up the tickets instead of you. Just leave the space blank.

I didn't try to add the tickets to MDE when I did this in Sept. I had other tickets that I used instead. I don't know if it's possible to add them since there is only one redemption code on my voucher for the 2 tickets that I purchased this time.

I am hopeful they can be added. Someone above states they were able to link them after 7-10 days.

Hopefully someone can answer my question :goodvibes I just want to be sure before I pull the trigger and buy the tickets.

My DH, DS and I have tickets. My DS is taking a friend and I'd like to buy his ticket. We are not going until October and are not sure which friend will ultimately be able to go with us. Can I buy the ticket as a the purchaser and give it to the friend that ends up going? I just don't want to have the ticket in my name and have to be used by me and not his friend. That was long and I hope it makes sense :)

I don't have a for sure answer. When I filled out the information on Orbitz it had a box that I could check that said something like: "I am not traveling but I am purchasing this ticket for someone else". I'm not sure what happens if you click that box (not sure if you have to put someones name in or not). You can try and see Orbitz requires a name. This info was all entered before I hit "purchase tickets" button so you can always cancel the transaction prior to purchasing if it requires a persons name.

Sorry I don't have a better answer.

I bought tickets thru ebates/Orbitz last year and I redeemed the voucher in Sept. The tickets are regular MYW tickets. You pick them up at any Disney ticket window. There are no names on them and do not expire until 14 days after the first day of use. You can give them to anyone as long as they have not been used by someone else.

You only need to add names on Orbitz if you intend to have someone else pick them up.

This is my issue as well. Planning a trip in October but not completely sure we will be going then.

Would the voucher be good after the range of dates that I entered on Orbitz? What if I said October (2014) but we didn't end up going until January (2015)?

Wow.. this does sound like a great deal. Can someone help me with the math here though. I see the B3G2 option on MYW base tickets. I need 6 days overall. So am I correct in thinking I can do the following:

B3G2, 2Adult, 2Children $1083.54

Then pay the difference between the 5 day MYW ticket and the 6 day of $42.60 (per WDW website: 5 day =$1190.68 6 day=$1233.28)

So I save 107.14 up front, then another 20% ($217) with ebates cash back?

Total savings around $324

Did I get that right? That would be amazing!!!!

There are no dates on the voucher. You enter the dates of travel on the Orbitz site to get the pricing info. Like Marionnette stated, the tickets are valid for 14 days after the initial use (just like if you were buying them from Disney directly).

Thank you all so much. I just purchased the ticket. Great deal and I even get a Target GC for becoming a new Ebates member :cool1:

The only issue I see with this is with your FP+ reservations. Since they are tied to days of tickets, you would only be able to do 5 days worth ahead of time...that is what is keeping me from doing a 5 day and later upgrading to an 8 dayz
