I'm not sure. It seemed as if my TA didn't even know about it until I called. I would assume it would be automatic but mine wasn't. Then again, I check prices every few weeks and maybe I happened to catch the drop on the 1st day it happened. BTW-my name is Donyale and obviously, I will be taking the Transatlanic in 2010 as well. I will be bringing along my wonderful husband, my daughter, and my son. (DD will be 14 and DS 16 at the time of sailing). We have only cruised one other time but it was a 7 day Disney cruise and we have been eagerly awaiting to do it again!!

I am currently in a Cat 4. Has anyone on here stayed in a Cat 3? I was thinking about upgrading to one but not sure if the price difference is really worth it. Are the Cat 4s nice?

Nan will be back next week... she's currently staying in a cat 4 on the magic - she's stayed in them before... I'm sure she can answer lots of questions for you...

Right Nan??? ;)

Happy Monday evening! I found us on page 2, and decided to bump us up a bit!

Hope everyone had a wonderful Holiday!

You all sound like a fun bunch. :goodvibes
We're considering switching to this cruise from our 7-night booked with an onboard offer. How much is the onboard OBC for this sailing? DCL said it's the same $200 as my 7-night. Is that correct?

I think that is correct.

Just think... 7 extra days on the ship!!! For not much more than the 7 day costs...

We stayed in a Cat 3 for the WB Repo in May and are holding a Cat 3 for this TA cruise. Must make up our minds quickly.

We are a family of 5 and love the extra room for these long sailings. Our little ones need some down time here and there and it's nice to have the space. Concierge is amazing and Palo on a regular basis is a bonus. We are not fans of the main dining room food.

I think we'd do a Cat 4 if it was a shorter cruise, but we have been spoiled by Concierge and Palo.

DCL told me that there wasn't an OBC for this sailing? When did they offer this? :confused3

I think if you booked on board you got OBC and Dreams is offering it also...

ok, I am pricing on DCL, is there an option to add airfare home? We live in FL so only need to get back here from Barcelona.....I keep coming up with an error message. This cruise is pretty reasonable and if our tax return is good, I am booking it, otherwise waiting until May when we sail and booking onboard.

V.... step away from the keyboard... I though you were going to wait until you could book onboard???? Think discount and OBC... ;)

This one will be our 4th.....I looked at the price and for 14 days I just could not resist. My son (now 13) LOVES the "at sea" days. He will be a newbie on the Stack by that time but he has loved all of the other clubs so I am sure he will like it.
I will be pulling him out of school too but he is (so far) a great student. He knows that he needs to maintain it if we are going to go on this one. A good incentive :cool1: ps. booking on board has always saved me the most $$

I live outside of philly....I checked some flight prices and found JFK (New york city) had the cheapest flights. (around 500 pp) I may just do that and take the bus home from nyc or have someone get us at the airport. Philly is at least twice that much pp. Im going to "trip watch" it in several places though.

Counting already !!!!!

It will be our 4th trip on DCL too. We're also flying out of JFK, probably to Florida the day before the cruise leaves and then back from Barcelona.

Good news here- Salvatore Daniel has been evicted from my womb and is a sweet and adorable baby boy. He was born on 12-27-08 and was 7 lbs 6 oz. He's gaining weight well and is already 7 lbs 15 oz as of this morning's check-up. I can't wait to take both kids to WDW in April, and on this cruise next year!

If it's not rude, how old is everyone? Seems like everyone here has been on so many cruises and I feel so inexperienced!! LOL Either everyone is older than me or I just don't make the same amount of money as the rest of you!! LOL

Congratulations, Ginamarie!!! Enjoy your precious new little one! :cloud9:

DH and I are both 30 years old. Cruising is a little bit of a vice for us. Our honeymoon was our first cruise, and we've tried to cruise as much as possible since then! For us, cruises are more economical than other types of vacations. DCL runs more expensive than most of the other lines we've been on, but we love the DCL experience. Luckily, we have almost another year to save up for this cruise!

I'm 35... currently planning cruises 3 & 4. We'd probably have twice as many sailings by now if our family wasn't double the size of most! ;) I love my large family, but I will admit I'm often envious of those of you that can get away with booking a single stateroom!

Darn it you're younger and have more money!!! (JOKING)! We have only cruised one other time and it was with DCL. We would like to cruise every year so I plan on booking again once on this cruise!! The cruise seemed the most economical vacation as well!! I can't wait to get on board for 14 days!!
