I'm sad to say we canceled our cruise today. It was so hard to do! Just can't pull the kids out of school that long. Could you please take us off the list .Crystal Bill Cassidi and Austin. We will miss meeting all of you!

Ah we will miss you. Athena was looking forward to meeting Cassidi. I totally understand though and figure I should have a sitdown discussion with the highschool this spring. Logan will miss 2 weeks of 9th grade, I think it will be okay but I want to make sure!

We just returned from a 10-night cruise to the Mexican Riviera/Sea of Cortez, which was very relaxing. Our goal was just rest and relaxation.

There were six ports and we did not book a single excursion. At three ports -- Puerto Vallarta, Mazatlan, and Cabo San Lucas -- Mrs. Woody did not even get off the ship. (Been there, done that.) I went sightseeing in each of the port towns, and even saw the cliff divers in Mazatlan from the adjacent sidewalk.

While the Holland America "Ryndam" is NOT the Disney "Magic," it doesn't carry the Disney price tag either. Our cruise fare for 10 nights in an ocean view cabin (equivalent to Cat. 9) was $599 pp plus tax and port charges. We spend that much on airfare, hotel, and a rental car just to get to the Magic.

Some of the highlights on the Ryndam were robes in the staterooms, fresh squeezed orange juice, a "made to order" eggs Benedict station at the buffet (with 5 or 6 samples on display, like at Palo), two omelette stations at the buffet, hand scooped ice cream (4 to 5 flavors that changed daily), culinary demonstrations with a real kitchen, a 3-room library with books galore (with over a dozen Mexico guide books alone), daily 3:00 pm tea, and a classical music quartet.

ok now I am confused (maybe because I have not been on for a while) but the web site says to contact tinkerbell77 for the fish and secret mickey - I cannot remember if I signed up yet or not so who do I need to contact? Also is there a way to get a list of those participating in both on the web site at some point for those of us who cannot remember can?

I went to a Disney outlet and found a great fish extender and some secret mickey gifts. I purchased 100 of the fish extender gifts so if we do end up having more than that I will have to do a plan "b" and split things up (like for adults or for kids, or something) I know there are 123 peole on the list right now but not sure how accurate it is and the items I purchased are not for little kids. I may have go back and get a few more as it was not a planned trip so I did not have an exact number but will not worry till maybe ummm 12 months before the cruise instead of 15 months. So I am excited. I will start wrapping them soon and tagging them as that seems to take up the most time with lots of people. I am also planning out my secret mickey gifts already for this cruise.

I still have not decided what to use as fish extenders this cruise - the first cruise we did stockings (december cruise) and the PC cruise we did gift bags (ran out of time to make anything) so not sure what I will use this time.

I am getting excited and we aer still so many months away!

no problem - I have not checked in in a while so I thought I may have missed something or something -was not sure - can't believe we will still have one more Christmas before going on this cruise - makes me want to book one sooner but I will patiently wait

I know I havent been around much lately, but 2 of my 3 girls have December B-days, and the holidays, and end of year work at work, I have no time for anything extra...And we are planning a 2009-2010 Dec/Jan trip...What am I thinking!!

We booked on day 1 at 7 am and here is what we are paying:

2 adults
1 12 year old
1 15 year old

Category 10 - inside deluxe
Transfers
No insurance
no airfare

$4475.52

When I checked tonight for same as above my total was:

$4165.52

So it is cheaper than day 1 - anyone else run into this? Does disney price adjust or do you have to cancel and rebook? It is a difference of $310 and that is quite a few DOD or Bingo games

I called my travel agent because I noticed a 308.00 price drop in their online price as well. The reason for the price drop is because Disney has refunded their fuel surcharge. (each passenger was charged a fuel surcharge due to the rising costs of gas) Since gas has dropped drastically, Disney has decided to remove those fuel charges. In my case, 112.00 for each adult (my husband and I) then 42.00 for each of my two children. Apparently my travel agent did not notice it so I called them. They put me on hold while they called Disney, who confirmed the price drop. The price difference was immediately creditted!!
