Are you allowed to eat snacks on the busses and monorail? Ds is the only one of my crew that's starved first thing in the morning. I was thinking of getting a jump start on each day by letting him nosh on a bagel or some fruit while travelling to the parks.

Food & Drinks aren't really allowed on Disney Transportation for a few reasons... cleanliness, and what gets left behind attracts unwanted friends.

I have seen people eat and drink alot on buses & the monorail although I don't know if it is "allowed".

I have given the baby 1/2 a banana on the bus......I have had a soda on the the bus and seem to always have a bottle of water going so I know I have had that on the monorail dozens of times.

Not that my family and I were trying to break any rules but in the past we have brought drinks on the Disney Transport Buses and a few times on the Monorail. I understand the buses there is a sign that says no eating and drinking, however at the time we honestly did not see the sign and were not told by the bus drivers to throw out our drinks.

As for the Monorail I don't think I have heard any recordings or seen signs inside the Monorail cars that food and drinks were not allowed while ridding them.

Seeing people do it, doesn't mean it is ok. Tyler is a former monorail pilot and bus driver. He was saying it nicely, please don't eat or drink on the bus or monorail. Do people do it, sure. But it doesn't make it right.

Our world has turned into a "the rules don't apply to me" society. Not pointing any fingers at anyone, but come on folks, they ask you not to eat or drink on the transport, so obey the rules.

You can eat right when you get to the park or have something in the room before you go. You can bring creal bars or other granola type bars in your luggage so you have a little something.....

Have a wonderful, rule following trip, everyone!

Is there a reason the OP's DH can't:
Eat in the room (if they will have the food in there with them), or
Leave the room five or ten minutes ahead of everyone else and stop in the food court, or
Eat while waiting in line for the bus (and if one comes while he's eating, wait for the next bus?

When a former wearer of the 'purple pants' says it's the rule, it's the rule.

And now you have the official word....see above.

This is exactly what we do...just leave your room a wee bit earlier than you would have in order to feed the hungry in the group. Then, munch on your bagel while waiting for the bus. If not done by the time the bus comes, wrap it up and put it in your bag until you get off the bus.

Just because the driver doesn't actively tell you not to eat/drink, there is signage to that effect. Is this a big deal? Probably not, but imagine what the buses would look like if everyone decided that, in their case, just a bagel wouldn't hurt anything!!

There are definitely signs on the busses and monorails (or announcement, can't remember) about no eating or drinking. Rules are rules, taken them for what you will. Speed limits are posted and we see how well those work!

That said, I've walked onto a bus or monorail many times with an unfinished beverage in my hand (usually a resealable bottle) and have taken a swig every now and then (usually subconsciously) and managed to spill it on myself. So, the rules are there to protect me (or my clothes) as well as others . . .

We've seen countless times that a current driver (Cranbiz), former driver/pilot (Tyler) and a respecter moderator (Goofy4tink) have confirmed that the rule is no eating or drinking.

I would expect that those who have read this in past would not feel the need to disregard the rule just because it doesn't suit their needs.

I will not normally ask a guest to throw out a covered drink or snack, I will ask them not to eat it or drink it while on the bus. (unless you brought enough for everybody)

However, if it is an uncovered drink, I will ask that you comsume it prior to boarding. If we are at a resort I'll ask if it may contain alcohol, if so, I'll politely ask that you not board with it.

You are on vacation, we try our best to accomodate you, BUT it is WDW policy that there is no eating or drinking (or smoking) while on Disney Transportation.
