I know I've seen this here before but I can't find it...

So, we're trying to spend as little money has possible when it comes to food. We do have one ADR at Tusker House. Other wise we'll probably be eating most of our meals in MK. What places are good and what CS places do suggest? Family of 4 (me, dh, ds 4 and ds 2.5). Thanks in advance!

Everyone has their favorites according to their likes and dislikes. Go to www.allearsnet.com. There are menus w/ prices.

A bit of advice: The portions at the CS are huge. You can easily share meals. Our favorite is to order a double hamburger w/ an extra bun and make 2 hamburgers. Also, we only order ice water. You can bring single packets of Kool-aid from home to mix in it. Soda is too expensive when we are on a tight budget.

Here's my CS advice: Bring water bottles - that will save money. It may help to have a few snacks in your bag so that every time you and the kids get a little hungry you are not buying something.

Order kids meals for the kids and you and DH can share something. Good CS choices at MK are the Main Street Bakery for breakfast, Columbia Harbor House (nice indoor seating area - maybe get a meal and each get a soup) for lunch or dinner. If you are not big eaters, you can likely get by with 2 meals and a snack (such as a breakfast, a snack like a dole whip - yum- for lunch and then a CS dinner). Another tip, at the ice cream place on main street, a cup is huge and can easily be shared by 2 people. And the kids portion is huge for a kid. For breakfast the yogurt parfait at the Bakery is a favorite.

CS at Epcot is plentiful and great. Try the Land pavalian for lots of choices and air conditioning. Also at WS, Morocco and Japan have CS with nice indoor places to sit.

We haven't really liked the CS at MGM. Maybe there do a late lunch at Prime Time. If you don't want to spend that much, you can share an entree and a cesar salad or a soup. The chicken noodle soup is good.

Many resorts have food courts that make for great inexpensive dinners. At 5:00 many offer choices not available during the day.

Have fun. You can have a great time and eat on a budget.

At MK, the best way to save money on food is to share. The portions are large and too much for most people to eat at one time. We like Cosmic Rays best for this because there are a lot of choices. If you get a wrap, it is easily something that two can eat. Chicken nuggets/tenders could be split easily and as PP said, the double burger trick is a good tip. Do check the menus available on wdwinfo and see which CS has the types of foods you would like.

Have a great trip!!

You can also ask for a cup of ice water from any of the counter sevices locations and snack bars for FREE!

Take a break from the MK and head over to Trail's End Buffet at Ft Wilderness. It is a pretty walk around the resort too...you can look at the horses/ponies, etc. Cheap eats...the cheapest buffet on property I think! And good, down home food too.

I am not sure the allow you to get an extra bun anymore....I heard someone make mention of that in another thread....Disney really frowns upon that.
Because you are getting something you have not really paid for. Perhaps you can just cut the burger in half and split the fries. And order two sodas....I have seen many people do this and it is not a problem. Bring snacks from home and have water shipped to your resort from Staples and bring the juice mix packets to make juice on the go.

Bring cereal from home to have breakfast in your room. You can buy milk at your resort but you will need to rent a refrigerator.

I hope this helps..... Have a GREAT trip!!!!:wizard:
