Quick question. We are going to stay at Disneyland the week before our cruise next summer. We are staying there for 7 days, but are only doing 3 days in the parks. My question is, if we don't have tickets for the park, can we dine in any of the restaurants, or are we limited to the ones in resorts?

you need a valid park pass to eat in any of the restaurants within the parks, however you have a lot of good choices at DTD and at the resort hotels that do not require a park admission.

I second eating in Dowtown Disney which doesn't require park admission.

I really liked Rainforest Cafe, Naples, Tortilla Jos, and the Jazz Kitchen.

Yes you are a bit limited as you will not be able to dine in any of the venues inside the park example Ariels grotto would need park tickets. Since you have to enter the park to dine there. You can dine in Downtown Disney, or the hotel venues.
