So I've been on a diet lately and have lost close to 6 lbs.

I leave for WDW and DCL this Wednesday, with the DDP, and I'm terrified I will BLOW my diet and gain back all the weight!!

Does anyone have any tips for eating healthy?

I know that sounds ridiculous considering all the great food in WDW, and I plan on getting a Dole Whip!
hahahha

We have ADR's at 1900 Park Fare for Dinner, Askershus for Dinner, and CP for lunch.

We drink lots of water and unsweet ice tea...no soda but we do have cocktails at night

We eat a ton of fruit, as breakfast, snacks etc

Love salads and eat alot of those too

Share snacks

And you are doing a ton of walking so that helps.

Don't worry about blowing your diet! Most people have said that the amount of walking around they do offsets any of the food they've eaten. Don't eat funnel cakes 3x a day, but if you're even semi trying to eat healthy while you're here, you should be fine!

It seems like there are salads at every CS restaurant we eat at. I'm sure there are at sit down also. Drink water instead of soda.

DH and I walk an average of 10-15 miles a day while at the world. They don't feel like it, but we go often enough to have taken our pedometers and figured it out :lmao:

We have a good breakfast, a very light lunch that normally consists of a sandwich, nothing with bacon too much mayo etc, some fruit and drink insane amounts of water. We only have two or three sit down meals planned for a 5 day vacation, only one of those meals is a buffet if that much.

If we have a snack like a mickey bar or a dole whip we tend to share.
I always loose around 6lbs on each trip. I wish I could go to WDW more often I'd loose weight like a fiend!

Just a note, I am by no means an athlete, I am rather large but I am very active, do 5K's in a regular basis and don't have much of an appetite when I am out and about. The daily routine of sitting down at the computer at work is what kills me :surfweb:

With buffets, take small portions of what you like. Load up on the salads, see if they have fat free dressing.

a lot of walking at WDW. I wasn't necessarily losing to lose weight on our vacation this summer but I drooped four or five pounds. That included three days at the beach after Disney that was mainly sitting around the pool or on the beach. It was so hot that I didn't want heavy meals. I had salads a couple of days for lunch. Another day I had a vegetarian sandwich at Sunshine Seasons. Most places have something that is light to eat and fruit is sold as snacks at the parks. Also remember that if you want a burger or such that you can ask them to exclude the fries. They will subtract the cost from your bill. I think it was something like $1.80.

Sunshine Seasons in Epcot has some great salads!

Just use commonsense and I think you'll be fine. If it has cheese on it or a creamy sauce its probably loaded w/ calories, stay away from salads made w/ mayo, etc. Have fun on your trip!

TIP:

Start with healthy choices at Breakfast
it makes it easier to stay with healthy choices for Lunch
and then by Dinner time if you want something- have it, dessert included.

For me, if I eat the junk first thing in the morning, I'm more likely to eat junk the whole day:scared1:

Past years I have always eaten what I wanted because I really didn't care, and with all the walking I have never had a gain.

This year is different because I have changed my eating habits, I have searched menu's on allearsnet.com just to find out where I can have a heathier CS. While most places do offer salads, veggie sandwiches which I love.Fruit is everywhere.Animal Kingdom had a great fruit wagon. I do plan on splurging on dessert at Ohana's and Lecellier. Remember it is Vacation.
Drink alot of water and tea's.
Have fun!

I suggest eating your biggest meal at lunch time and avoid the carbs during that meal. Avoid too much sugar and stay out of the bakeries! Salads are everywhere but get the dressing on the side when you can.
