Eating casual at monorail resorts on party night

We’re considering leaving the park for dinner one of our MK days as the park will close at 6 anyway for MNSSHP and we aren’t attending that night. Those of you who have done similarly, do you find the monorail resorts have long(er) waits on those nights at quick service/casual spots from folks thinking similarly? Normally I don’t mind waiting for a decent stretch, but my toddler may struggle a bit with that after awhile. Would we be better off securing a reservation somewhere for peace of mind, or should we be okay?

A few years ago we left MK at 6, went to the Poly to put our name down for Trader Sam's, then went on a monorail crawl.....we were at the contemporary and then said "huh, our estimated wait time is supposedly down to an hour, Tambu lounge anyone?" and we made a beeline and managed to snag a table....our Trader Sam's wait was at the VERY END of our "estimated time" wait (I think probably 2.5 hours?) probably due to the early party night, but we were able to finish at Trader Sam's, run out to grab a dole whip (what?!?! the Lanai closes at 10?!?!?) and then find a spot for the party fireworks

We’ve visited the monorail resorts quick service restaurants several times over the years on MNSSHP nights early in the evening. Captain Cooks at The Poly can get really busy. I haven’t seen the quick service at Grand Floridian and Contemporary get overly busy.

There will be lots of families dining at these locations before heading to the MK for the party.

If there is a TS in the area that appeals to you, it certainly doesn't hurt to make a reservation. You could also consider taking the boat to WL or Ft. W and having QS there. There is also a playground right near the QS at Ft. W if your toddler enjoys playgrounds.
