We are staying on site at Universal HRH next year for 4 nights and would welcome any recommendations for places to eat either at HRH or within walking distance ?

definitely have breakfast at The Kitchen at the HRH - its awesome!!!
:worship:

We are also going to be trying Sals for pizza at the Portofino and Margaritaville at City Walk - we haven't been to either yet - but they both come highly recommended from the Universal boards!!

hope that helps!!:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

Lots of places to eat, any of the hotels restaurants, RPR Islands is esxcellent and not to pricey, you have all places at Citywalk , and never been really disappointed with any of them, plus the park restaurants

The Kitchen is pretty good in the evening as well. Loads of places at City Walk,(5 mins walk from hotel) depending on your taste. Hard Rock Cafe, Forrest Gumps and Bob Marleys are all good IMO.

Walk up to the Portofino one day for a nose round and maybe dinner at Mamma Dellas or, if you're VERY flush, Bice.

Another fun thing at HRH, usually on the weekend is to have a casual dinner at the pool bar and then watch the 'dive--in' movie from the pool loungers.

You're spoilt for choice, Rob - CityWalk is just 5 minutes walk and the other two resorts are easily accessible, so your options cover most types and price ranges. Your problem will be what what to miss! ;)

If you're steak lovers, you could do a lot worse than The Palm at HRH. Like most high end steakhouses, it's pricey, but very good. For a while it was on our "must do" list each trip, but it's several years now since we last ate there. Don't overdo the side orders - just a couple for the entire table is more than enough.

We've eaten at almost all the table service restaurants onsite at Universal Orlando. Both Emeril's at CityWalk and its sister restaurant, Tchoup Chop at RPR, are good options at the higher end. Bice at PBH is the only upscale offering we haven't tried (it's predecessor, Delfino Riviera was one of the best restaurants in the area). Perennial favourites amongst the casual eateries are Hard Rock Cafe, Margaritaville and the new Nascar Grille (we weren't keen on it in its former guise). Sal's Market Deli is nice for lunch, but I wouldn't make a special trip to PBH for it with so many other options available. Mama Della's, also at PBH, isn't the most authentic Italian you'll have ever eaten, but it is a pleasant dinner environment.

I would strongly recommend going into Islands and trying the Mythos Restaurant. We have been there several times and not one of us has had anything but an excellent meal.

In CityWalk you can't go wrong with Bubba Gumps if you like seafood, Pastamore is nice, Hard Rock Cafe is good, Nascar is good, Margaritaville is also good. Like people have said you can't really go wrong.

I am going to try Mythos when we go. A little pricier than other places but it's won awards for fantastic food, so I think it's a must do!

Thinking of doing 4 nights at HRH next year 2. Do you need to make ADRs for any of these restaurants or can we just walk in?

A good question Karen, would also be interested.

So much choice, so little time! Thanks all for the suggestions, have only eaten at Margaritaville previously. Debs you are spot on.....this will be only our third trip and we are looking at where to eat on Disney and it is difficult to know which options to drop! Started with a not so short list last night, so tranche two tonight!

If you are staying onsite at Universal you get preferential treatment for seating. Unless you are going at very busy times a day or two in advance is fine. The 2 Emeril restaurants are an exception where I would book as far ahead as possible.

You should be able to book when you are there, I would definetly book Mythos, as your hotel key will not get you in
