Which resturants inside the parks are the best for sharing meals, serve the largest portions or have fixins bars...

Any hints on getting the most from your $$$$???

We have some ADR's for table service and will need to do some quick services meals also....

from my experience...M.K. pecos bills

H.S. Backlot express

A.K. Pizzafari

Epcot electric umbrella

any other tips or ideas?? Money will be tight for my 2 sons and their families..

thanks

Cosmic Ray's gives you the most bang for your buck, IMO.

EPCOT
Electric Umbrella. I believe they have a fixin's bar

DHS
I like a lot of places, but none off hand that are "more" on the plate than others.

AK
Flame Tree B-B-Q. I seem to recall getting quite a bit of food there.

Saving money...hmmm....try getting a double cheeseburger and an extra bun and split them, or just cut it in half.

Eat your "big" meal at lunch, not dinner. Evening servings at table service places have about the same food as at lunch, only for a higher price.

Have a buffet for "brunch". A quick "in room" breakfast of cereal bars & fruit will get you to brunch-time and that will hold you over for a snack mid-day and then a regular dinner. I recommend Crystal Palace. Can't go wrong with breakfast with Pooh, and you will NOT leave hungry!

Pecos Bills with the fixins bar is great for sharing. DH and I often get the chicken wrap cut it in two and it's more than enough for two adults with pretty good sized appetites and I can smother mine in mushrooms and onions and he can have lettuce and tomato on his.

Other places we like to share at Epcot: Sunshine Seasons in the Land, Tangerine Cafe in Morrocco. The portions at both of these are pretty large.

At AK Yak and Yeti counter service used to have really big portions they have cut back a bit but are still big enough to share, espically if you add on a side. The food there isn't as tasty as it used to be but still decent very seasoned down asian food.

We wouldn't eat anywhere CS in DHS even if it was free so I can't help out there. We find all the food there to be bland and just yucky. Starring Roles has huge sandwiches but formerly slathered ALL of them with some mayo concotion, which I won't touch and they aren't fresh made so there is no option of getting one without, but if they don't mind thier food swimming in mayo then Starring Roles looks like a good place to split a sandwich.

our favorite splitable meal is at the food court at PORiverside. The create your own pasta is giagantic. After stuffing ourselves and still not coming close to finishing it there we started sharing all the time, once we even shared with the 2 of us and our 2 kids and still had plenty.

Ice water is free at any place that has fountain drinks and can save lots of money. I'm picky about the taste of my water and find the counter service fountain water to be just fine.

I believe they either stopped selling extra buns , or started charging more. I don't recall the details, but I remember a thread about it.

started charging more.
I believe so too. Still only a fraction of what another sandwich would be (I seem to recall .49 cents) but that is why I also suggested cutting a double in half :thumbsup2

That way you get the same amount of meat but only half the carbs.

My DH and I love to share the pot roast at Liberty Tree Tavern in MK. This is only available at lunch and large enough for us to share. It is one of our favorite meals.

The OP said in the Parks, but the best deal in WDW I think is Earl of Sandwich in DTD.

So for your day off from the Parks.

Another one for Cosmic Ray's. For something like $12, you get half a chicken and 3 barbecue ribs. plus mashed potatoes and veggies. More than enough to share with someone.

Fairfax Fare in HS also has large portions. It's another BBQ place, so you may want to do Pizzafari or Yak/Yeti in AK if having BBQ twice would be too much. We really like Fairfax and think it is on par with Flame Tree.

Peco Bills has a huge fixin's bar with lots of yummy stuff....my DH always gets a taco salad there and loads it with almost every single item on the bar LOL

Cosmic Rays has large portions

In Epcot we like the Mexico CS, large portions there too...3 people can make a meal out of those nachos!

We like the platters at the Tangerine Cafe in Morocco in Epcot - always share and it is relatively healthier than some other counter service options.
