do you eat out at the same place you are staying or do you go to the parks or other hotels for meals?

like to eat at the DVC that I am staying out.

Both - that's one of the reasons we go for at least 2 weeks at a time, so we can eat at the resort, eat out at other on site places, eat off site and cook in. Occassionally, we actually have sometime to do something other than eat!
:rotfl:

We tend to eat breakfast almost exclusively in the room at the resort, lunch almost always at one of the parks and dinner is an even 50/50 split depending on what the plan is that day and where we are staying. We used to do the basic dining plan but felt like we were just killing time between dining reservations and bound by a restrictive schedule. If we do a dining plan anymore its the Quick Service one these days.

This will be our first trip next month as DVC members. We are planning to eat breakfast in our villa and have drinks and snacks on hand. We have a few ADR for dinners and lunches. I can imagine that we can also come back to our resort for lunch and dinner and get something for a quick meal.
We are at the BLT and from what I read the CR has some great quick meals and a store.

:thumbsup2

We also do both! Arrival dY we tend to eat at our resort and maybe one other time depending on where we are staying!

A little of everything, except major cooking in the room. I usually make ADR's for about half the nights either in the parks or at other resorts. But the other half we eat either QS around the pool or head to DD for dinner either QS or at the bar of a place like Ragland Road. One or two nights we eat TS at the resort we are staying at. Really it depends where we are staying. Some DVC resorts have more choices than others. This time we are at AKV. So there are plenty of choices. I'm really looking forward to Saana this trip. We have an ADR for the first night there. If all goes well I may try for one another night. The only meal we eat in the room is breakfast. And that is generally yogurt, fruit, oatmeal, etc. Nothing fancy. We do keep snacks and drinks in the room for afternoon breaks and late night munchies.

We eat most of our meals in the villa. In my opinion, this is one of the more positive economic reasons to be a DVC member. This schedule actually works out great, as we use these meals as a reason to peel away from the parks mid-day.

We do eat at restaurants, but this is largely due to a preplanned special meal (usually with characters) or we are touring with friends/family.

If I had to offer a percentage, I would say 85/15 villa/restaurants.

Always eat dinner at the resort on arrival night. Then on another night if there is a signature.

Breakfast is in the room or on the go. Lunch is usually in the park. Dinner is varied. My resort, park or another resort. I try and eat at new places but the two steadies are always Flying Fish and Boma for every trip.

We love visiting other resorts around WDW to sample the cuisine. This is one of the great joys of Disney that many seem to miss out on. All the resorts have unique theming and wonderful food. Sampling a few of the resort poolside bars is also a source of entertainment. We still enjoy eating in, but we don't require a lot to be satisfied. We do alot of QS, some sit downs, but mainly it is light snacking then off to the next adventure.

I usually prefer to dine at resort restaurant and sometimes Epcot. I find the decor and food are better at the resort restaurants.

I have breakfast at DVC and eat my way through Disney the rest of the time. The days are planned around the lunch and dinner reservations!

We eat all around. We usually have at least one meal at our resort, always have breakfast in the villa, and eat at the parks and other resorts the rest of the time. Although I usually do eat at the resorts of the area we are staying in for example when we stayed at BLT, we ate at Poly and GF.

That's pretty much the way it works for us, too. Most breakfasts are in the room, just simple stuff, toast, cereal, oatmeal, etc...EXCEPT for maybe one or two character breakfasts (Chef Mickey's or Crystal Palace); then it's just a scramble to see how many of our favorite restaurants we can fit into our schedule! NEVER enough time to catch them all, but we do our best!! :rotfl:

breakfast in room and try to eat at or as close to possible our resort and then the park, done going all over just to eat

Breakfast and lunch vary, usually depending on where we are when we get hungry. That said, we generally sleep through breakfast and sometimes lunch.
For dinner we eat at our favorites, regardless of where we are staying:

- Yachtsman Steakhouse
- 'Ohana
- Sanaa
- Jiko
- Narcoossee's
- Shula's
- Restaurant Marrakesh
- Tony's

On our first morning we go to Crystal Palace for an early breakfast and then most other days we have a light breakfast in the room. Lunch is usually QS in whatever park/pool we are at and dinner is always out somewhere but is a mix of either resort or park depending on where we are staying or which parks we want to do. Most of our stays are either BCV or BLT so plenty of nearby restaurants to choose from:thumbsup2.
We also eat off-site occasionally but never do any cooking in the villa - after all, it's my holiday too:)

we eat everywhere. at our resort, parks, other resorts, we don't use the DP because we like to go when we want without ADR's and havn't had a problem yet getting in somewhere.

Little bit of both depending where we stay, at SSR you have DTD with so many places to eat, as well as Turf Club. I like to consider DTD part of SSR, just adds to why it is my favorite resort. Problem is Disney has made so many good places to eat it's hard to decide. Kona Cafe is a must for Tonga toast at least a couple times a year.

Our last two trips we had dinner at BOMA on the night we arrived while staying at AKV. I do go to the grocery store, so breakfast is almost always in the room (we have done 1 character bkfst per trip with our DD), and we usually have some snacks for lunch. We probably eat dinner out 3-4 times on vacation, and cook something back at the room the other nights. Save us a good $$$ or two.
