Does anyone have any suggestions on where to eat? We're staying at DL hotel(free upgrade) so we'll eat brekkie there. Then hit the parks when they open and have a light lunch of counter service but want a proper sit down meal at nights. We'll have 2 children who will be 6 and 3. So want somewhere they will enjoy. We're travelling in a party of 12 but hope to not be near them for dinner apart from the buffalo bills night. So we only have 2 more nights to cover.

How did you get this upgrade? Which hotel did you book first?

If you are staying at the DLH and you have 2 children I would recommend the Inventions! This is a character dinner and the characters come to every table. Your children will love this! And the food is out of this world! There is even a children buffet! :thumbsup2

We are hoping to eat at Inventions during out stay, what is the best time to eat (or worst)??

We originally booked and paid for NY but we suddenly had a phone call to say that due to reasons beyond their control they would move us to the DL one. We believe there is a conference on at NY so we had to get moved to free up our rooms.

We've done innventions before. Will probably end up there again. It was there our son got his arm stuck in the highchair!!! What a palava. The staff were talking about sawing him out! So beware if anyone has a little one in a mickey mouse chair with a whole in the head bit.

Inventions buffet is a nice option for table service meal in the evening.
You could also try something in the village Planet Hollywood, Rain Forest Cafe.
Lastly what about another hotel - Hotel New York or Sequoia Lodge. Both restaurants come recommended :)

The best time to eat there is between 7pm and 10pm. Because the characters are only there for dinner!
And the restaurants in HNY and SL are great too but you don't have that great interaction with the characters! So if you have children (or you fell like a child) go for the Inventions! :cheer2:

We eat at Inventions at 6pm as the troops would not last till 7pm :teeth:

Here's another question for you - on the DLP food guide it lists the Cape Cod restaurant as table service but I was under the impression that it was a buffet restaurant - can anyone help??

Cheers

Lynn

Lynn, I haven't actually been there myself but as far as I know it is a buffet. It is classed as table service because you will have to wait to be seated (might be best to make reservations) and a CM will serve you drinks to your table and clear away your used plates as opposed to a counter service/food court.

I rather fancy trying Cape Cod next time. :)
