Where is your favorite place to eat at the Studios, either sit down or counter service?

I am big fan of anything retro, so I love the atmosphere at 50's Prime Time.

My favorite is 50's PTC also. Great atmosphere; wonderful servers and terrific food. LOVE the meatloaf!! :bounce:

On my recent 10th visit to WDW, I finally ate at the Brown Derby. It was wonderful (and slightly cheaper at lunch).

Used to be Mama's but our new favorite is 50's Prime Time.... don't get me wrong, we still LOVE Mama's but 50's was awesome. We tried it for the first time last year and wondered what took us so long :p

I really enjoyed the 50s Prime Time - fun and the food was very good. I am not a big mashed potato eater - but the ones here were VERY good! :) Great pot roast and green beans as well.

I also enjoyed the buffet at Hollywood and Vine.

Though you will find mixed reviews on this one, we really enjoyed the Sci-Fi Dine in Theatre. I didn't think the food was bad at all, and the shakes are wonderful! The atmosphere is enough to go and enjoy!

We also enjoyed Hollywood and Vine - the buffet was great, and DH loved it, and he is not a big buffet eater.

I have heard a lot of wonderful things about 50's Prime Time Cafe, and it is on our must do list for our next trip!

Another Brown Derby fan here. Good food and good service.

Can't wait to try 50's PT though!

Mama Melrose is our favorite by far. Great service (Dori and Kevin are two of our favorites) and we love the flatbreads, salads, calamari and my son loves the pasta diabalo (at least I think that's the pasta dish that he orders sometimes). The food comes very quickly yet the atmosphere is relaxed. We always have lunch here and often 2 or 3 times a trip.

We used to be fans of the Brown Derby too but the last couple of times we tried it we didn't think the food was as good and the service there always has been very leisurely:D . To be fair we probably haven't tried it in a couple of years so I suppose we should visit again.

The meatloaf at the Prime Time is fantastic, as is the fried cream cheese with raspberry sauce appetizer!

Also, I must agree with the thumbs up on the Sci-Fi. They have an eclectic menu of stuff I wouldn't ordinarily try, but I'm never disappointed. Plus, it's just plain fun to sit in the "car" under the "stars" and watch old movie clips - it's amazing how quiet it is in there even though it's a restaurant! Maybe it has to do with the majority of seats facing forward - makes you want to watch the screen rather than talk to your lunchmates!

We love Mama Melrose's. The food and service have always been good. My daughter loves Italian and we have done the Fantasmic dinner package there several times. We did the '50's PTC last time for luncn and it was good. I have yet to see anything on the Brown Derby menu that really appealed to me. It seems a little too gourmet for my taste. These are just opinions. I would go to Mama's.

If you have children in your party you can actually order a healthy meal with veggies for them instead of the usual pizza, burgers and nuggets with fries at BD. That has been a deciding factor for us. We have had several very good meals there. For whatever reason have had 3 lousy meals at MM. (Plus, more pizza no veggies for the kids!) We have eaten at Sci-Fi several times and if you haven't experienced it you probably should once. I totally agree with the common advice given about sticking to the burgers, onion rings and shakes (more counter service type fare that you will pay much more $$$ for at Sci-Fi). 50's is fun if you like to joke around a lot when you eat. The food is on the healthier side and tastes good, too!

I love the pot roast at the 50's Prime Time. It is sooo yummy!!

We love 50's PT and Sci Fi. Sci-Fi is especially good on a hot summer afternoon. We had a really fun waiter there who was very interactive like the staff at 50's PT. We don't even consider counter service at MGM, so I couldn't comment on it.

Ditto! It's never really appealed, but we tried it last time on the basis that we'd eaten everywhere but 50s PTC and H&V. I loved the decor. Not sure that it's a place we'd want to keep going back to, but it was definitely a pleasant surprise.

We switch off between Brown Derby and 50's Prime Time. Many times it depends on the people we have brought with us. If we think they will prefer the laid back fun of 50's Prime Time, we head there. If we think they would prefer the elegance of Brown Derby, we eat there!
This trip we will go to the Brown Derby. But we ate at 50's Prime Time last trip (with a very LARGE DIS CON II group!)

My favourite place is Hollywood Brown Derby. Fantastic food served in a beautiful restaurant.
