Are there any places for must eats at UO/IOA??? In retrospect, are there any places to totally avoid and NOT eat at at all costs???? I was told to only order burgers at SciFi at WDW and that was pretty good advice. A good burger, cheezy movie, and DS even received a driver's license!! Good advice, so I thought I'd try to get opinions on UO/IOA's food--the good, the bad, and the ugly!! Thanks! :wave2:

Best Overall/Full Service: Mythos in IOA

Best Burgers: Burger Digs in IOA, Richter's in USF. These have huge condiment bars so you can put whatever you want on your burger.

Best Ice Cream/Floats/Milkshakes: Schwab's Pharmacy in USF

Best Counter Service: Thunder Falls Terrace in IOA

Definitely second the recommendation for Mythos in IofA. Fantastic service and the food is gorgeous. The restaurant is set inside a 'fake' inactive volcano.

Can highly recommend the chicken club sandwich with fries :)

Another vote for Mythos. If you want a great upscale dinner, Tchoup Chop at the Royal Pacific Resort.
Other people like Mel's,but we wouldn't go back there EVER. One of the worst burgers I've ever had!
We also really like Lombard's Landing in Universal Studios and the Latin Quarter in City Walk.

I agree that Mythos is a great restaurant. I also highly recommend Finnegan's Bar and Grill in Universal Studios. It's a sit down Irish American restaurant. The service is great and the food is also very good. They have a large menu with many choices. I believe that around noon you can also catch the Blues Brothers show right in front of the restaurant. Have a great time. :wave2:

Thanks everyone.....will definately put Mythos on the list! Will come up with some others too! :disrocks:

Most restaurants have very good food, but I have heard a lot of people who don't like Mel's diner, and really, I don't think it's ever been spectacular food there, especially compared to all of the other great places to eat.

Mythos is a MUST do, it is the best of the best. (not sure about the volcano comment posted above though, it doesn't look anything like a volcano)

Margaritaville in CityWalk. Sooo much fun, good food, and watch out for the volcano!

Here's another question (sorry, I haven't seen the answer anywhere)....... do you make PS (like Disney) or a ressie with UO/IOA restaurants or no?? I'm thinking the PS is a Disney thing....so, to eat at Mythos....ressie or walk-in?? Not sure of the time they open, but usually try to do a late lunch/early dinner type of meal.......to ressie or not to ressie....THAT is the ?....:scratchin (ps-and is it credit card secured?)

You don't say when you are going. If the parks close early, Mythos is usally not open for dinner. You can make reservations. Are you staying on site, you get next available seating at most restaurants just by showing your room key! For Mythos at lunch, we've usually just walked in. If we want to have dinner there, we usally stop in early in the day and make a reservation.
For Tchoup Chop or Emeril's other restaurant, you MUST make reservations in advance.

Sorry gschmer.....planning late June (yes, next year!) We just got back and I HAVE GOT to plan something for next year....ya know...something to look forward to! Anyway, DH & I were last at US just after it originally opened! No IOA, Citywalk or resorts...so, I'm pretty clueless about the whole UO/IOA stuff..... Been askin' questions as DH is throwing them at me! So, if we plan Mythos like 4pm the end of June next year, we can call that morning to make res, or walk-up and show room key (staying at RPR) for next available? That sounds good....will have to run it by DH, but, I think he'll be okay w/ it!!
gschmer: ....btw.....you don't live far from me!!! ;)

If the parks close early, Mythos sometimes is only open until about 3:00. Check on their hours to help with your plans.
Yes, Reading is not too far from me at all!!

I can see why it would close early on say, June 29 or July 1st....I'd think they'd be open at least till dinnertime!

gschmerl---I'll have DH "honk" at you on his way to work one morning!
