Eat Your Yogurt!

Thank you Vic that was interesting reading. There are some links on the side that were interesting also.

I'm doing well with my personal experiment with a fish and veggie diet. I'll tell you all about it over dinner at LTT when we journey to our happy place again.

Unfortunately, I don't like the taste of yogurt unless it is the frozen variety. :rotfl2: Somehow I don't think that is quite as healthy.

Thanks for the info, I am a regular (in more ways than one) DanActive drinker. I think it helps me in many ways. I CANNOT eat regular yogurt, it makes me ill just thinking about it, but drinking it is not a problem.

How about trying a yogurt smoothie? One of my favorite quick breakfasts on the go. In a blender I combine whatever fruit I have (bags of frozen fruit come in handy for this), fat free plain yogurt, and a little skim milk to thin it out. It's delicious, and healthy - my kids even love them!

That's a great idea. I can't stomach the taste of yogurt either -- well, except for the frozen dessert. I like doing the milkshake-as-meal thing, though (as in high-protein Slimfast and the like) -- makes me feel like I'm getting away with something naughty. :)

Bill, I'm with you and everyone else who seems to be facing this.

OK, Maybe, I'll try this. Maybe.

Vic, thank you for the link. To those offering suggestions and/or support thank you.

Thanks, Vic
I used to make my own but these days I am buying the Stonyfield Farm organic variety. And now my Little Hagen is eating it too. :goodvibes

Shannon thanks for the great Smoothie idea - I will try that ::yes::

And make it extra good for you by adding ground flax seed, calcium citrate (especially for 50+ women), and if you're really brave a 'greens plus' powder. Here's a link about the greens plus http://greensplus.com/index.php/cPath/34_36
I have this every other morning, I also add 1/2 cup of frozen berries (blackberries, blueberries, rasberries). I won't say it's all that tasty, but I really feel that healthwise it can't be beat.

For better flavor, make your own. It's frighteningly easy.

Make Your Own Yogurt

I use 1% milk. You can add Splenda or sugar or honey and whatever fruit you have on hand, even frozen. I use Stonyfield farms as my culture starter, plain or vanilla flavors. I like it best with a little honey and cinnamon.

I love yogurt but with the lactose issue I have developed over the last few years, my friends wouldn't like me much afterward:rotfl: I'm sorry! I know; TMI:confused3
