I haven't posted here for ages. We actually got into a pretty good habit in terms of not eating out. Our resolve is about to be tested. Baseball season starts here this week, and with two boys playing ball and one playing soccer, we're out every weeknight. We don't get home until 4:30 many days, and will have to be on the road again by 5:30. It would be so easy to go the fast food route, but I want cheap and healthy. So, it's back to menu planning and doing what we can to keep things simple. I'm hoping this thread will help me stay on the wagon!

Here's the plan for the next few days. I usually grocery shop on Wednesdays, so I can adjust after that if needed
Sunday: roast chicken on the grill with grilled potatoes and veggies
Monday: shrimp on pasta with spinach salad
Tuesday: grilled chicken burgers
Wednesday: crockpot beef stew

We had a Peter Pan movie night Saturday night. My BFF and her dd joined us. We ate:

Pirate Pizza Boats (french bread pizza with captain hook main mast and jolly roger flags)
Fruit Swords (kabobs)
Pixie Dust Punch (green punch with whipped cream and green sprinkles)

We did a treasure hunt too. It was a great time. Next month we are doing Mulan.

Last night for dinner we had grilled pork chops, broccoli rice au gratin, and yellow squash.

Tonight:

Chicken Fajitas
Chips and Salsa
Mexican Rice

So glad to join this thread! The last six months we have been crazy with eating fast food. I'm so done with it!

Yesterday we had hot dogs and other grill side dishes.
Monday chicken cacciatore in crockpot
Tuesday grilled cheese and soup
Wednesday kielbasa and fried potatoes
Thursday eggs, waffles, and bacon
Friday leftovers

No idea what from there but I think I'll get plenty of ideas from reading your posts. :)

I am going to grill hamburgers for lunch today, then freeze the extra. I was craving a burger but I can make them so much healthier then anywhere else.

For dinners this week we have:

Monday: Maple Balsamic Salmon, Cauliflower, and Salad

Tuesday: Chicken and White Bean Stuffed Peppers and Salad

Wednesday: Pepper Steak and Rice

Thursday: Grilled Fish Tacos and Salad

Friday: Unknown due to possible plans

Saturday: Date #2!!!

Sunday: BBQ Chicken, Corn on the Cob, and Three Bean Salad (Mom's choice)

I picked up an extra shift at work for tonight so we are having our big meal at lunch. I am making lemon chicken orzo soup with rolls. For dinner, I will heat up some leftovers once I get home.

Last night's dinner ended up not happening. We had to race the dog to the vet because he was struggling to breathe. We were able to get him to a local vet who sedated him (to calm him down) and got him on oxygen until things improved. Then we had to take him out to the after hours vet for overnight observation (the local vet was a small individual practice and didn't have overnight care). I think we got home about 9:00 PM, so we picked something up and ate. I had to pretty much go right to bed because he has to be picked up at 7:00am or so and it's a 45 minute drive, so an early morning for me (and I slept horribly due to the anxiety).

I hope everything goes well today with your dog. It is always hard to deal with our sick fur babies.

Tonight we are having the pioneer woman's beef with snowpeas stir fry over rice.

He's doing alright, a lot better then yesterday. What it is is that, when the dog gets older, some of the larger breeds can experience a situation where the larynx starts to become paralyzed. So, it doesn't open as much as it should, causing difficulty to breathe. There is nothing you can really do except try to prevent over exertion and stress. There is a surgery, but most vets are not even trained in doing it and it would be too much for a 12 year old lab.

Glad your doggie is doing better LilyWDW! Dinner tonight:

Fried Potatoes with Smoked Sausage
Green beans
*Strawberry Jello w/ Whipped Cream and Sprinkles
