So this weekend was great on my food budget!!!! Fri,bbq at my sisters:banana Sat,bbq at my inlaws:banana: and Sun,big family party at sister-inlaws :banana:great company,no cooking and free food:cool1:Tonight is leftovers from sister-inlaws:thumbsup2 because she ordered soooo much food.I have no idea what the rest of the week will be like, I have to see whats on sale this week.....unless someone wants to invite us over for dinner,:rotfl: were available:lmao:

We went off course last week but am back on track this week. I am not working any nights so that will make it easier.

The menu-

Tonight- Shredded beef enchiladas
Tuesday- Spaghetti with homemade turkey meatballs
Wednesday- Lemon chicken cutlets with rice and veggies
Thursday- Patty Melts with oven fries and fruit
Friday- Beef stew in the crock pot
Saturday- Calzones

I was feeling ambitious today so: Roasted tomato soup, rice au gratin provencal (sounds fancy, but it's really just a savory baked rice pudding), and salad. We have plain rice to use up, too. I might make sweet rice pudding or coconut rice from that for dessert.

The best thing about this menu is smelling the tomatoes roasting all day.

Newbie here, very excited to find this thread, I'm very inspired by the dedication you have all shown to cooking! DH and I did a major overhaul of our finances in the past two years and realized that we were spending SO much money on restaurants/carry out. We've dedicated ourselves to eating at home at least 5 nights per week now. Looking forward to sharing menus and recipes. For us this week it has been:

Monday- Grilled chicken and tomato/cucumber salad
Tuesday- Spaghetti with turkey meatballs and salad
Wednesday-Taco salad and oven roasted corn
Thursday- Crockpot brisket and sauteed kale with onions
Friday- Have a party to go to so will likely have a quick sandwich and few appetizers when we get to the party!

I just discovered this thread. I really need to start cooking at home more. It has become too convenient to go to McDonalds instead of cooking. My goal is to eat at home every night next week except on the 3rd and maybe the 4th. Going to a family pitch in on the 3rd and as of now, no plans on the 4th, but will probably do something with other members of the family. I'll post my menu later after I have looked through previous posts to get some ideas. Thanks!

Quickly looked through previous posts and got a lot of great ideas! Thanks again!

Sunday - Taco salad with ground turkey
Monday - Spaghetti with turkey meatballs
Tuesday - Family pitch in
Wednesday - 4th of July, plans up in the air
Thursday - Homemade pizzas using biscuit mix
Friday - Breakfast for supper (pancakes, eggs, bacon, etc.)
Saturday - Baked macaroni and cheese

So tonight we are going to have the pork chops and corn on the cob...
Sunday - Szechuan Beef and Broccoli, fried rice and egg drop soup
Monday - Zucchini Noodles in a Thai Peanut Sauce
Tuesday - Sour Cream Chicken Paprika, stir fry cabbage
Wednesday - Burgers and Fries
Thursday - Brisket Tacos
Friday - steak, potato, and salad wedge

I would love the Zucchini Noodles in a Thai Peanut Sauce recipe if you can post. This sounds right up our ally!!
Thanks~

Tonight we are only having lunch meat sandwiches. I am struggling to make the menu for the upcoming week because we have family coming, cookouts, the children may or may be leaving the day after the 4th to spend a week with grandparents...just don't know how many folks to plan for at all. :confused3

Welcome to everyone who is new!:dance3:

We have been doing really well here :thumbsup2

I have decided that very Sunday we have a big family dinner something for my girls to remember when they grow up.

Tuesday was Harry's pizza and salad
Wednesday was homemade chicken noodle soup and brownies for dessert
Thursday was pork loin with corn bread fresh collard greens, summer squash snap peas, rice and ice cream with chocolate almound butter ( I bought the almond butter at the farmers market yesterday and It tastes just like brownie batter so good;))
Tonight will be home made Mac and cheese with salad.
Tomorrow we have a birthday party and a cook out so wewill be eating there
