Is this your first time making it? it looks DELISH (to quote Rachel Ray)

Yes it was the first time, and my DH kept telling me that he really liked it... Like 4 or 5 times told me that so I am guessing it will be used a couple more times this winter for sure..

Awesome Brandi thanks, I am swaping it in for Tomorrow nights dinner vs. the regular ole spaghetti I had planned:flower3:

I was originally going to make pulled pork in the crockpot this week....however I bought boneless country ribs because it was 2.79/lb. There is a recipe on allrecipes to make pulled pork using boneless ribs with high ratings....but I'm almost thinking I'd rather make them in a crockpot with a homemade bbq sauce, but I'm thinking they will probably just all fall apart....don't know what to do with them?? Anybody have a good recipe using boneless country ribs?

I've never made or had pulled pork but I often cook bonless country style ribs or pork sirloin cutlets in my crockpot with some BBQ or Teriyaki - they come out moist and tender - falling apart some but not shredded

I made broccoli cheddar soup with some leftover broccoli, chicken fingers, sweet potato fries and a green salad.

I also made some fresh rolls for the kids lunch tomorrow and I grilled some chicken breasts for them to make grilled chicken sandwiches for their lunch. Love it when I get my act together. Don't ask me about tomorrow though. :rotfl:

We had a pork roast, sauerkraut, diced potatoes and onions, and pickled beets. YUM!

I'm going to use some of the left over pork for a salad for lunch tomorrow.

Tonight was a quick chicken fried rice from Trader Joe's. I was very glad to have it as dh was at a meeting & I was exhausted:). Tomorrow is chicken pesto pasta & salad.

I have done great so far this week.....cooked dinner every night. Tonight's dinner is beef stew in the crock-pot, already cooking :)

Saturdays are my downfall, never feel like cooking. Friday nights DH and I go to a cheap local diner.

Suggestions for staying on track for Saturdays?

Tonight we are having leftover veggie beef soup with grilled cheese sandwiches...

Can you throw something in the crockpot on Saturday mornings? I find I am always more motivated to stick to the plan in the morning. After a day of work or errands is when I am more likely to get take out.
Maybe even agree that Saturdays are lazy, easy things like grilled cheese or soup? And my best trick when wanting to go out and grab something is to imagine what it will cost, and then imagine what that 20 or 30 dollars will buy on vacation!:thumbsup2

I changed the menu this week. There a bunch of leftovers in the fridge so we are having leftovers tonight. I will move the lasagna we were supposed to have to Friday. I hate having to throw away food so leftovers will work for today.

Just back from grocery shopping. Got stuff to make a few new recipes I found on Pinterest (how addicting is that site?!).
Saturday- pizza, snacky foods (cheese/crackers/sausage, chips/veggies/dips)and whatever else we find in there
Sunday- turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy, cranberry sauce, candied sweet potatoes, rolls. Since we have to have black eyed peas, I found a recipe to try for them.http://thepioneerwoman.com/cooking/2010/12/zannies-black-eyed-pea-dip/ It's got to be better than just eating them straight.
Monday- fish sticks, mac and cheese
Tuesday- mexican lasagna http://mogwaisoup.blogspot.com/2009/08/enchilada-lasagna.html
Wednesday- chili
Thursday- 3 cheese pasta bake http://www.myrecipes.com/recipe/three-cheese-pasta-bake-10000001033041/
Friday-eat out

We actually stuck to the weeks menu, i'm proud of myself :cool1: lol Tonight is supposed to be the 3 cheese pasta bake, but we may switch that with tomorrows eating out. We had the mexican lasagna last night and it was SO much cheese! I don't think 2 nights in a row of cheesy stuff is gonna work! Or we might do leftovers. We have chili, turkey and sides and lasagna in the fridge.

I usually try to do a crock pot meal, have DH grill out, or make something simple (like frozen pizzas, taquitos, anything quick and easy) on Saturdays.

I flipped Wed/Thurs dinners:

last night made fritta - no one was home to eat it except me

tonight will be pulled pork sandwiches (freezing rest of the pork for another time - it was 4 lb roast)

tomorrow - spaghetti with meat sauce

i have been really good with not eating out this week. i had planned two leftover nights. the only problem is that me and dd and been taking our leftovers to work. so tonight i will be having whole wheat pasta with philadelphia cooking cream, chicken and broccoli. tommorrow night is the sausage meal i planned. saturday we will have the spinach lasagna rolls. last night i made skinny turkey noodle soup (delicious).

You must be in Canada? We love Tim Hortons!!!

:hippie: actually i live in the buffalo, ny area. we are right across the boarder from fort erie ontario. they opened a ton of tim hortons in our area. i love them too but infortunately my pocket book doesnt!!!

It may sound silly to some of you, but I am really proud of myself right now. We haven't been out to eat since last Thursday evening...a whole week! It really is a milestone for us, particularly in a week that had a riding lesson, a basketball practice, an evening doctor appointment, along with our usual two kids in school and two full-time working parents.

I've got dinner started for tonight and a plan in place already for tomorrow. What a great feeling! I feel like Mom of the Year! ;)
