DD will be one next month, and we are going to WDW to celebrate in Oct. But, we will have a Bday party for her with our family (maybe 15-20 people) at home first. We figured it would be great to do a Disney World theme in anticipation of our trip and because DD love the music & characters. Because we are going to WDW soon after, it will be a budget party, and my idea of having WDW ship some Mickey shaped pasta to me will just not be cost effective (plus 19. for quick shipping-No Way!). MIL thinks I should order trays from our favorite Italian place, but I think it will cost less to come up with some simple Disney themed dishes. Anybody have any ideas? Thanks!

Have breakfast and do Mickey shapped pancakes (we usually do this about a week before any trip to WDW!).

Or Lady and the Tramp spaghetti (either prepared at home or catered), with Mrs. Potts' tea and Brer Rabbit Carrot Cake for dessert. Good luck and have a great BD party!!

For a one year old, don't kill yourself trying to make it special. Trust me, she will not care! Keep it simple; a mickey and minnie decorated cake, (or whichever character she enjoys the most) and play her favorite music in the background.
Save the big stuff for when she's three or four and can really get into it.
Have fun!

You could also do Rice crispy shaped Mickey ears dipped in choc!
I agree that you don't have to go over board for 1 year old! (Theming wise! LOL) You can also get Disney balloons, paper products and play nice Disney music in the background.
have fun! And enjoy your trip!
