Eastern or Western Cruise?

We did the Western in Oct 2003 and it was amazing - we are planning the Eastern in Oct 2005 and hoping it is just as great.

The Western has the extra port (Key West, Cozumel & Grand Cayman - all were beautiful). Eastern has the extra day at sea which is nice to get in some spa time and see all the shows.

Im sure either one will be a fantastic vacation for you!!!

both are wonderful, but i lean towards the eastern because of that extra sea day. It gives you more time to relax and enjoy the ship.

Western: more water sports and partying (on shore - Coz. - Carlos and Charlies and key west). Sting Ray city. Seas generally calmer than on the eastern.

Eastern: "prettier" beaches, the islands are hilly, not flat like the western. Extra sea day. St. John's!!!

Done both, both better than being at home!!! Going east again (one of the antigua cruises)

You have to look at the ports. In our case we love St. Thomas (and St. John); but then we also love Key West and Grand Cayman. We are so-so on Cozumel and also St. Martin. So then it comes down to ranking, St. Thomas (including St. John), Key West and Grand Cayman. In our case St. Thomas usually wins out. But not by far. Plus as some one pointed out you got that extra sea day, which is a big plus for us.

Eastern. We have been on both and liked the Eastern with the kids and the Western without. I don't think we will take our kids on the Western (but we had fun!)

Eastern, because of the extra day at sea.

We really enjoyed both of course. Our first was Eastern and Western was second. I agree with some of the posts here, if you have younger children and/or it is your first cruise, go with the Eastern. Extra day at sea. Get used to the Magic, relax, settle in and enjoy. More running around with the extra port. But that is also a great thing.
