Eastern or Western? And - book now?

We are ready to take the 7 day plunge. We have complete flexibility on dates; next Fall rates are relatively low now. Can anyone advise on Eastern vs Western? We like to see places, people, and things. Swimming, snorkeling, etc. don't excite us as much as new destinations and cultures.

Also--we have a 4 day in September. Will the on-board rates be lower than the current posted 2005 fall rates? Should we book now, then see what they offer and try to convert if the onboard rate is lower?

Fall rates are low and cruises are rarely full. The only exceptions to that may be the new itinerary sailings. We have frequently gotten great rates on short notice for fall sailings....so....

I'd probably plan to rebook while on board, especially if you are a little flexible on dates. Keep checking a site like vacationstogo.com to be sure that the dates you want are still showing up as low rates. Take documentation with you of the low internet rates you found. Rebooking on board will save you 10% off the current rate plus give you a $200 onboard credit. That beats anything I've found elsewhere.....

The Western has an extra port day for you. You have 4 ports instead of 3. You can check out ruins of ancient civilizations in Mexico. May be the way to go for you. Book onboard. Not that far away.
