Eastern itinerary in September vs Bahamas in July?

So we had planned on the eastern Caribbean on July 15, but we can save about $5k by doing the Sept 9 sailing. How is the weather in September?

Another option is the 5 night Bahamian on July 9 (it'd cost about $1k more than the eastern in September, but obviously a lot less than the Eastern in July).

We've never cruised before, and have never been to the Caribbean or Bahamas. I've read a lot of people's favorite port is Castaway Cay, and the 5 night stops there twice.

Either way, we're going to WDW in July; two flights isn't a big deal though.

Temperatures in the Caribbean are still plenty hot in September. The downside is that it's peak hurricane season. (But July is hurricane season too and there's obviously no way to predict whether that will even be a concern).

If I were to look at those two options for myself. I would be concerned about two different things that might influence me. First would be the time of the year, September versus July. July would be far too warm for me to head that far south I would want to stay inside and find air conditioning and enjoy a less of the actual outdoor activities.
Secondly the cruise would be much busier in July then September as most children would be back in school. Having a busy ship can mean longer lines at character meet and greets. Also busy at Castaway Cay it can be harder to find your place in the sun. Unless you plan on going on the Magic or Wonder where that won't matter for finding space on the beach.

The July Bahamas cruise is on the Dream, and September Eastern Caribbean is on the Fantasy.

I have a hard time getting in a pool if the outside temp isn't at least 95°F. I'm not sure how much the temps vary in the Caribbean though? Obviously rain or a hurricane would put a damper on activities in September, but I also don't know how likely those things are.

Our DD will be in school, so we'd have to pull her out for the Sept cruise. We aren't opposed to doing that, though.
