Eastern Cruise

HI,
Can anyone tell me, what is within walking distance from the ship on the Eastern Cruise? Can you get to a beach by just walking? Shopping by just walking?

Which port are you referring to? Both?

In St. Maarten, there is a small shopping village by the dock, but otherwise you can take a water taxi to all the downtown shopping. You can walk it , but it's a long haul.

St. Thomas...the shopping is right off the dock. You can walk very easily. If you want to go farther into town, there are always taxis at the dock.

Have a good trip....buy sumthin for me (oh, wait I'm going there again too )

There is a stretch of sand/beach by the shopping village on St Maarten, however nicer beaches definately require a taxi. No beach close to the port that we saw on St. Thomas.

Great Bay beach is available at the water taxi stop at Front St. on St. Maarten. The beach is decent, has chairs, umbrellas, water trampolines, jet skis, food, drinks, etc. $5 all day for adults to ride the water taxi, kids free. So you can head back to the ship for lunch.

If you tender into St. Thomas the shopping across the street from the dock there is even better. There is also a local market with venders set up next to it. We are looking forward to going back there.
