Hi everyone,

Just wondering if anyone has any experience on the Port Adventures for the Eastern cruise...

There will be four of us - me, DH, DS (5.5) and DD (just 3). DD is fully potty trained, if that makes a difference.

For St. Thomas, I am wondering about the Coral World one with the submarine as I think my little guy would enjoy it.

For Tortola, honestly, nothing is super exciting to me, so thinking of a beach day.

Generally, we are thinking of a beach day for one of these ports, and something more interactive (but no dolphins) for the other port. Of St. Thomas/St. John and Tortola, which beach trip would you choose? Any experiences you can share? Does the Tortola Port Adventure (Jost Van Dyke) seem expensive to you? On that one it seems like a lot of travel to get there.

Thanks for your insights!

I think you would enjoy Coral World. We have done it twice. First time we did the DCL tour that included the sub tour and we had fun. My DD was 6 the first time. More recently (age 8) we booked a sea lion encounter through them directly and went on our own. We loved the sea lion! With your kids I think they would enjoy the touch tanks and the bird aviary also. Just FYI they also have a nice gift shop with some unique items and the snack bar has yummy food if you need lunch.

Have fun!

Did you get there via taxi when you went on your own? What do you suggest as the best transportation?

There were 5 of us (3 adults and 2 kids) and we chose to reserve a private car service for the whole day. The cost was $175. He picked us up right at the gate where you get off the ship and drove us all day. We went to Coral World for a few hours, got an island tour with several stops for photos, and a shop at the shopping area for lunch and shopping and then back to the ship. Not super cheap but very convenient and we got to see a lot. I do remember there were taxis there at coral world so if you choose to do that to get back and forth, it would work for you. I think that it was about a $40 ride for 4 people each way.

Sorry to tag on to your thread but I'm looking for feedback on port adventures for East Carib too. We are also a group of 4 but our 2 kids are 9 and 12. None of us have snorkeled before (well, aside from in a swimming pool) and we'd like to try it. Any input on the various options? This one looks like a good choice but I'd love input! On St Thomas...

In St Thomas we did the snorkeling with the turtles and Honeymoon beach, the turtles were amazing and the beach was beautiful, we also had lunch it was nice relaxing day. Our kids were 13 & 15 they had a ball. My kids had never snorkeled nor my wife for that matter, but they give you buoyancy vests and the water is so clear, we got some great footage of the turtles on the gopro.
We went when they had St Maarten, wouldn't go back there again, hopefully Tortola is better.
