Eastern Caribbean Magic 3/26/11 - 4/2/11 COMPLETE

thank you for sharing...you gave me some TO DOs for my western caribe cruise (might do cabana for my Dream Cruise in 4/2012, and will do breakfasts at sit in restaurants, and will order coffee for the morning, and might try a cooking class)

Glad I was able to give you some TO DOs. I already have a bunch more TO DOs for our cruise next year. Just like the parks - you can't do it all in one trip - excuse to go back!

Nice review, heading out on that itinerary in January. Was last on the Magic in 2009, same guy was Jack Sparrow, he was awesome!

The shots were:
  1. Patron Silver
  2. Patron Reposado
  3. Patron Anejo

This showed a nice progression of how the flavors change as the tequila is aged. I loved the Reposado and had... I think 3 more shots of that plus one more of the Lime Margaritas from the group that didn't show up. Hoo Doggie!

The Margaritas were made with 1800.

Overall this was a good tasting. Learned a lot but this wasn't as interesting as the Martini tasting. Nur was a better entertainer.

Are these tastings something that you book while onboard? Are they very expensive?

Yes, you book the tastings at guest services. They were $15/person. We really enjoyed them.

Wow, that sounds very good considering the drinks you are consuming. I know my DH would love this. I didn't know about it. We will definitely partake! Thanks for the info.

Thanks so much for sharing. It was a very detailed and enjoyable trip report and you helped me tremendously in planning our Sept. Eastern on the Magic. We are regulars at WDW but we've never done the Disney cruise, so all your helpful hints, and others on these boards are so much appreciated.

I'm glad your family had such a wonderful time, and I agree, the site of those bags at the end are making me sad already :(

In addition to the tastings that we did (Tequila/Margarita, Martini & Beer) they also had Wine, Whiskey and Cognac.

I'm glad that I was able to help you out. Be prepared to be totally depressed for a few days when you get home :sad1:. But you can start looking forward to your next trip :cool1:. If you think you will be planning another cruise in the future, don't forget to book a date while you are on board. You get 10% off the cost, OBC and the deposit is only 10%. Even if you are not going again for a couple of years you can book a "dummy" cruise and then move that booking to the cruise you want to take when it comes out.

Have a great trip in September!

I just finished reading your TR and loved it!! Thanks for all of the pictures and advice, much of which will be very useful for our trip! Can't wait to meet you!

BTW, I cracked up at the video of your little man shaking his bootie!! :rotfl:
It was especially funny as it looked familiar--as a certain 8 yo DD of mine knows that dance really well!

Glad you liked it! It was nice writing it to relive the trip. Can't wait to meet you too.

Shawn is such a ham - he makes me laugh on a daily basis.

Awesome report! We just booked our 7 nighter out of Galveston, September 29th, 2012. I hate that it's 14 months away. Can't wait to sail on the Magic, though. Thanks for sharing your family's vacation.

You will love the Magic! Reading the boards will help the 14 months go quicker. We have 10 months to go till our cruise out of NYC.

:rotfl2: He and Henry will get along famously! Henry does this same dance! :lmao:

We will have to tape them dancing together!

I just found and read your TR! Thanks for sharing. It helps to read TR when you have a long wait ahead of you for your own cruise! :thumbsup2

Loved reading your report and seeing pictures, especially the one with your son asleep at the table. We just booked our first cruise for spring break 2012, Western Caribbean Magic. I have two boys too so like how you handled formal night, you and DH eating at Palo so boys only have to dress up on semi-formal night. Shared with my boys (both 11), they like that idea too! Rethinking Cabana, may be worth the expense. Intrigued on different tastings and food cooking classes (DH is a great cook).
Thanks for sharing with everyone, much appreciated!

Thanks. I agree about reading trip reports to get you through till your next cruise - that's what I am doing now.

Glad you liked the report and found some tips. You will love Palo. If you are able - I would do brunch and dinner. Have a great cruise!
