Thanks pixiehallow. I'm used to cruising late in the game so I've never done fish extenders. Wouldn't even know where to start even if I wanted to.

Looking forward to getting the link and getting to know more people on the cruise!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

YAY!!!!

So excited!!!!

I sent the invite to your PM box here on the DIS. If you have not received it yet, look up at the top right hand corner of this page in the box that says welcome MexiFinn. The bottom line shouldsay Private Messages: unread 1. Click on it to find your invite.

P.S. don't forget to include your DIS name in your request to join the group.

WINE MEET QUESTION

There are only 6 couples signed up for the wine meet.. I think we can fit everyone in our room. So those of you signed up for the wine meet. MerciNursi,cmmomx3,coreeyor,jgamy, and babynursedawn are you cool with having it in our room?

We have a deluxe stateroom with Verandah 250 sq ft... Or does someone have a suite they would like to offer up? Or if someone not signed up has one of them there big fancy rooms and wants to drink some wine for free in exchange for letting us hang out in your room let me know ;)

If anyone else wants to run this or has better ideas or if would you guys just prefer to cancel this wine meet? It's up to the group, I am just trying to be helpful since I was told coreeyor doesn't really have the time to plan this. But I don't mind either way.... I can drink my Key Lime wine all by myself :drinking1 ... haaa haaa :rotfl:

Here goes, I am going to ask all my stupid questions today and get it over with, and please bear with me if this has already been covered:
Viking,
How did you win a cruise? Bingo? Just curious. rolleyes:

My main question is regarding transportation to and from port. We always fly in a day in advance (due to a really, really bad experience on our honeymoon). Then we end up having a rental car. We have parked the rental for the entire week at a hotel. The hotel parking was "free" (or at least covered in the room rate) and the hotel operated a shuttle to the port, again for free. However, it just seems awfully wasteful to rent a car just to park it for a week. And then there is the concern that it might be stolen/wrecked/vandalized, etc. We have also rented a car at the airport and turned it in at the port and then rented again when we returned. We did this in Miami. The car rental agencies ran shuttles to and from port before and after. This was a bit more stressful and surprisingly not really much less expensive.

So I'm wondering what experience others have had. I'm assuming the car rental agencies also run shuttles at the Port Canaveral. Is this the case? Does anyone have other ideas or tips? :confused3

I have not been on lately but wanted to let you know about the Coco Beach Shuttle. We usually use the disney cruise bus but hate getting to the port so late. So this year we are using them and they pick up from the airport. We will be staying at a hotel near the airport, usually at disney but the will just have to wait until afterwards.

Anyways they were the least expensive from rental cars to other transportation, and I don't know about you but I would rather spend my money on something I would really like to have or enjoy and a car ride is not one of them.

Hi everyone! We're on this cruise as well! It's been booked for almost a year but forgot about getting on the board!

Welcome to our group Dodieauglis

:welcome::welcome::welcome::welcome:

Better late than never.

I will send you a invite to our group page shortly.
Unfortunately you missed all of the FE fun, but there are still meets that you can sign up for. Plus a plethora of information on the group page to help with your planning.

I look forward to getting to know you in the short time we have left :cool1:

Thank you, but that really won't be necessary. It's only a couple weeks until we leave for Florida. Besides, I have a hard time navigating the other pages so I'm on the Facebook page! Soooo much easier!!!

I'm still in. Would love to try some key lime wine. (2 BIG key west fans here!)
No suite or verandah, but those with wine are welcome here

Gabrielle is still just a storm heading North from the Bermudas, Humberto is a category 1 hurricane and obviously turning northwest, and so neither of them will harm any of our destinations.
There's a system in the Caribbean, that has little chance of becoming a storm and another one west of Yucatan that may become one, but won't be a problem for us. It may become a problem for our friends from the Lone Star State, but it's still too early to make a clear prediction.

Welcome MexiFinn and DodieAuglis!!! Not too much longer til the cruise. Looking forward to meeting you. Looks like you are on the Facebook page. I will chat with you over there. So much easier.

HeHe !!!!! :cool1:
I just got to see pictures of my cabin. A friend from Passporter who just recently cruised on the Fantasy was in my cabin for her sailing. And she just sent me pictures.
Which by the way in case you did not know Catagory 8A cabins are the most difficult to get pictures of ::yes::
But I am a one of the lucky ones that got to see it before arriving. :woohoo:

As if I was not excited before, now that I can look at my room, my levels have gone over the top. :hyper:

I had been stressing about the fact that there was not a split bath, but the size of the room more than makes up for that.

Oh...and Eric, I think that there is only one of our group in The Lone Star State that has to worry any about a threat of a storm in the Gulf. The rest of us are so far inland that the worst that we will get is the heavy rain. Which by the way we are in desperate need of.
