Nah, we haven't started packing yet. We likely won't until a few nights before we leave. I'm afraid I'm not much of a planner like a bunch of you are! I just kind of "go with it". Never been one to plan every second of my life lol. Too many things go wrong and then you have to start over anyway!

Hi Willywonka! Welcome to the group! I joined late too and as well as you, I'm trying to navigate through all of these threads and struggling! It doesn't help when I keep seeing the words "hurricane" and "tropical storm" that get me freaked out while I'm trying to catch up!! lol

Hi, I'm new to this and wondered if there is a Facebook page as it seems a little difficult to navigate on here!

Welcome to the Group WillyWonka


Yes there is a FB page, but I am not sure who you need to contact about it as I have choosen not to (as have many others, for safety reasons). But I am sure someone will jump on and point you in the right direction.

We also have a group page (much easier to navigate...all of the areas can be found on the left of the screen: messages, pictures, links, database (tables for all of the meets to sign up for and such), members, polls, and a group calender). So, all of our on goings and plans are in one easy to find place. I will send you a link here shortly.

As for the storms, only time will tell, but from the reports I have been watching from the weather channel, I would put my bet on no for the storms. There is a tropical weather episode that just aired last week saying that the air currents are thwarting the hurricane season. Basically because of the way the winds are blowing, it is making it difficult for anything to continue across to our destination. Plus we have been watching the water temperatures. They appear to be falling as well.
But, if there happens to be a storm, fear not, our brave and talented crew aboard the Fantasy will do their absolute best to steer us clear of any trouble.

Nope, just a seasoned cruiser and Florida-traveller. But I had to take some metorology classes during my professional training in the aviation business, which helps a bit.

I just got to see pictures of my cabin. A friend from Passporter who just recently cruised on the Fantasy was in my cabin for her sailing. And she just sent me pictures.
Which by the way in case you did not know Catagory 8A cabins are the most difficult to get pictures of
But I am a one of the lucky ones that got to see it before arriving.

As if I was not excited before, now that I can look at my room, my levels have gone over the top.

I had been stressing about the fact that there was not a split bath, but the size of the room more than makes up for that.

Oh...and Eric, I think that there is only one of our group in The Lone Star State that has to worry any about a threat of a storm in the Gulf. The rest of us are so far inland that the worst that we will get is the heavy rain. Which by the way we are in desperate need of.

I am so with you Tink, we could use some major RAIN here! !! Just give us a "depression" no wind, just rain.
