Eastern Caribbean Fantasy Oct. 5, 2013

If you are signed up for DCL updates, you can expect to receive the email below regarding the special Halloween sailings. If you're not signed up for updates, happy reading! :)

Thank you for choosing a Disney Cruise Line vacation. We look forward to sailing with you and want to take this opportunity to share with you some important information as you prepare to pack for your vacation. You'll want to make room for your costume, because this year we've extended our Halloween offerings to include activities on your sailing.

We'll be celebrating Halloween on our ships this year with several themed events, including a costume contest for our adult Guests and a special costume parade for children on the sail dates listed below:

Disney Fantasy
September 21
September 28
October 5
October 12
October 19
October 26

Disney Wonder
September 28
October 5
October 12
October 19
October 26

Disney Magic
October 27

Though not required, we encourage Guests of all ages to bring along their costumes and join in our special Halloween celebration. On the evening of our party, children will receive candy treat bags in their staterooms that they can bring along to the party to collect even more treats. Prizes will be awarded to our adult costume contest participants based on the following categories:

Funniest
Most Spooky
Best Group
Most Original
Most Disney

More information on themed nights, times and locations will be available onboard in the Personal Navigator that will be delivered to your stateroom.

Please remember that while all Guests are invited to wear costumes, we ask that you choose costumes that are not obstructive or offensive. To avoid any disappointment or delay in the boarding process, we ask that when considering costume options you refrain from bringing toys or props that resemble guns, knives or other related implements, as these items will not be allowed onboard.

Again, we look forward to sailing with you and hope you have a magical cruise.

Sincerely,

The Cast and Crew
Disney Cruise Line

Notice that the Dream wasn't listed above because they are going to have extra Halloween festivities on their sailings. At least we're getting some of the extra fun! pirate:
Thanks for posting. :thumbsup2
Just got mine too.
Now to figure out what other costume to bring. I mean aside from my pirate one of course. pirate:

I think I figured out how to enter my info! Woohoo!!

With eight weeks to go I emptied the piggy-bank where we collect €5-bills as spending money for vacations. After counting it was exactly €600 :D
Tomorrow I'll attend a B-B-Q at my cousin's place and so I'll give her the dough to have it exchanged for Greenbacks - approximately $780. As she works for the Bundesbank (German Federal Reserve) she gets a much better exchange rate than I would get at our bank. Together with the leftovers from our last US-trips that's a nice wad of spending money for our trip.

Attention group II members.

I just got a message about a correction to a cabin #.

I sent you an email with the correction. I also will change it on the group page.

The correction was to SinDee's cabin.

Maybe I missed it somewhere but it looks like you have 3 children, 1 girl 10 yrs old and then I was not sure what the other 2 children were. Please let me know as my gifts are different for boys and girls. Thank you.

Hi All :wave2:

Only 9 more weeks!!!! :woohoo:

DH and I have reserved a rental car to go from WDW to the port and a second rental car to go from the port back to WDW. Is anyone interested in splitting our rental? :car: We will have a sedan or larger (DH has elite status and can choose practically any car available on the lot) so we can take up to 3 people. Your share would be $30 each way, including tolls and gas. Yes folks, that's the total cost, not per person! What a deal! :yay:

On embarkation day, we plan to leave the WDW resort area by 8:30am, with stops at the new Dreams Unlimited Welcome Center and a gas station before turning in our rental car (only three blocks down from the DU Welcome Center). If you need to make a quick grocery stop for water/sunscreen, etc., we could do that, too. DH will drop us off at the port before turning in the rental car. Door-to-door service... it doesn't get any better than that! :)

On debarkation day, we will leave the ship (read: DH will drag me off the ship kicking and screaming) around 9am, catch the rental shuttle, pick up the second car, and drive back to WDW. If you're flying home that day instead, we can drop you off at MCO. Easy peasy. :thumbsup2

Let me know if you're interested! :goodvibes

Which rental car company will you use, Deb?
We have basically the same plan, be we'll come from Amelia Island (200mls North of PC) and leave for Panama City Beach after the cruise.
We rent from Alamo, but will use the Enterprise-shuttle as they handle Alamo's business in Cape Canaveral.
We would have preferred Dollar or Hertz, but acoording to our German travel agency they don't provide convertibles at their Cape Canaveral offices.

Hi, that does sound like a great deal for a couple! Unfortunately, we have a family and will have our own rental car each way. My question is: what is the Dreams Unlimited Welcome Center? We drove last August, but I don't remember seeing it or just didn't know what it was. Thanks.

Quoted from their Website:
[Dreams Unlimited Travel is proud to officially announce that we have opened a customer service office in Cape Canaveral, FL just 1 mile from the Disney Cruise Line terminal.

Located inside the DISBoards.com Welcome Center, this location will serve as a place where you can come for a visit, enjoy complimentary refreshments and snacks, as well as complimentary Wi-Fi. Dreams Unlimited Travel staff are on hand to assist you with anything you may need - from suggestions on what to do in the Cape Canaveral area, making priority seating arrangements at Walt Disney World and a host of other services.

You can also take comfort in knowing that this location is staffed whenever a Disney Cruise Line ship is in port should something unexpected happen and you require assistance from Dreams Unlimited, were just a phone call away.

The Welcome Center is open Wed-Fri from 9AM to 5PM, and on Saturday and Sunday from 9AM to 3PM (these hours are subject to change based on when Disney ships are in port). You can call the center toll-free at 855-227-3155.

The address for the Welcome Center is 6550 North Atlantic Ave, Suite B, Cape Canaveral FL 32920.

We'll stop there as well. The rental car station where we return our convertible is right across the street from them and a gas station is also nearby. As we've booked all our 7day-cruises thru Dreams -except, of course, for the free cruise I won at WWTBAM- since 2001 we'll definitely stop by to chat a bit, have a drink and pick up a gift - and say 'Thank You' for the great service they've provided to us for more than a dozen years.

DH has elite status with National, so we'll be dropping off at Enterprise, too. We used Budget for years and were also very pleased with them. :thumbsup2

I wish we could offer to take more than three extra people with us, but there's no guarantee we can choose a vehicle larger than a sedan. It's usually not a problem at MCO, but rarely have we been able to get anything larger than a sedan when picking out a car at the port after cruising. :worried:

I just learned about the DU Welcome Center while reading a TR last week! I'm really excited about stopping in there! We've been very happy DU clients for many years. (We love Kelsie!!! :lovestruc She has definitely worked some magic for us!!!) Here's the link to what Viking posted above:

9 more weeks.... and all I can do is daydream about being on that ship!!!!!

In the meantime, we can all take a peek at her on the Port Canaveral webcam every Saturday: http://www.portcanaveralwebcam.com/
This webcam switches frequently between our Fantasy, Carnival's Dream, and Carnival's Ecstasy. When the camera is on the Fantasy, keep your eye on the white tube that extends out to the right of the top of the back funnel - about every 90 seconds, you'll see an AquaDuck float zoom out! :)

Hello Fellow Cruisers!

Apologies for my being away from the group for so long, life has interfered greatly - promotion at work, daughter broke her foot and husband with shingles!

As mentioned, I will be arranging the maho beach day.

As per the sign up, we have somewhere between 40 and 42 people wanting to go along. I assume that will mean multiple buses.

I will contact Bernards with the following information:

Date: 8th October
Time 9am
See: Orient beach (or perhaps another beach close by if they think another one is better for less nudity)
: Maho beach to see as many arrivals as possible
Number: approx 40 - 42
Duration: Back to port or alternative of St Phillpsburg approx 2 hours prior to ship departure (approx 4 to 4:30 based on current timings in port).

Can those interested please confirm you are still ok and numbers, those are:

2crazegoofies, 5
Deb T., 2
Kelly Group, 9
Pixiehallow, 2 perhaps 4
TamaraH_cruise, 4
Viking, 2
mercinursi, 5
santam01, 2
simsandrachel2013, 3
timewilltell98, 2

As soon as I get a majority confirmation, I will get the arrangements sorted. They require a small deposit from memory, which I am happy to pay now and will sort out with you all on the day.

Let me know!!

thanks :thumbsup2

Lea
