Hi! Please add myself and Tatiana to the meets. It is Tatiana's first cruise and I want it to be memorable. Also, can we join the FE group if it is not too big please? I have only done it once (technically not yet, not til August 31st) and would like to do it again. Thank you!!

Are you asking for the Tatiana who has joined or thread under the name Tatianasuv?

If so, she has been added to the FE.
And I would need to know if you are in the same cabin or in another?

Also, the meet sign ups are on our group page. If the Tatiana you are refering to is the same, I have sent her an invite, and she has joined our group page. I can send you one as well if you would like.

If this is by chance a totally different Tatiana, please let me know, and I will get y'all added seperately, and the invites to the group page (this as I said is a place to fill out FE info, find out what's going on in the group, and sign up for any meets that you want to take part in).

All of our barbques and fireworks for the last few days have been rained out. We haven't had this much rain in this area since 1994! But we decided to come up with another way to celebrate. We decided to go to Monsters University today! While we were there, we found several more Disney movies that we want to see when the come out and spent some time making bets on which movies we would see onboard.
Now we are watching Macy's 4th of July Fireworks. Not nearly the same but at least it's something!

Hope everyone else has had a good 4th and hopefully a little drier than ours.

Morning all, just wondered if you have finalised the numbers for fe yet? I know you have the yahoo group but I really can't figure it all out so I will have to stick with on here for imfo. Just wondered if I am too late to join the fe group and if you were splitting the group? We are travelling from the uk and don't have a huge luggage allowance. If the groups are going to be around the 20 mark could you please add me to the list? I will check back later when it's not the middle of the night for you guys lol

Hi there- my dh created a fb page a couple of days ago- think we only have 12 members, also there is a yahoo group which most people joined as I believe there was some concern about safety/ security. The fb group is called " disney fantasy eastern carribean oct 5th 2013. Would love to have you join

With the 2 new additions and the recent withdrawls, we are now sitting at 40 cabins.

The vote on the group page was looking like the majority was wanting to close the FE sign up at the end of this month (so, a few more weeks for anyone new to add), and wanting to keep the group sizes at between 20 to 30.
So, if no one drops, it looks as if we will have 2 sub groups (each with at least 20 cabins in them)....So now will be the question on how to divide up.

There is a poll open for that as well on the group page.

I am sorry I did not give you a proper welcome the other day.
I was confused thinking your request was a duplicate...My bad

Mrs. Stevenson is correct. This group does not have a FaceBook page because of a vote that was taken early on. The majority felt safer not sharing our info in such a public manner (especially considering that many of us are traveling with little ones). We did set up a group page that is secure and by invite only. I will send you an invite shortly (Mrs. Stevenson, I will send you one as well... not sure if you got one before or not).

The group page has a plethora of info. This is where you will find the FE list (with cabin numbers, number of guests, any allergies, favorite characters and such). You will need to fill in your info so we know where to deliver your gifts as well. We also have an address book, picture shares, meet sign ups, excursion info, planning tools (like a practice sheet for drawing your cartoon character at animators palate). Plus several conversations, polls, and just about anything else you could think of.

Another note, a while back (because of the reasons several of us are celebrating by cruising) we choose to dedicate our cruise to cancer survivors. If you know anyone who has survived cancer, please let me know. I am trying to get special ribbons for the different types of cancer survivors that will be represented.

And, we had group shirts made through vista print. I think there may still be a groupon available for these. If you are interested, Please let me know....Mrs. Stevenson, Viking found a Vista Print sister company in Germany to get his shirts. You may want to ask him about that if you are interested in a shirt.

Soooooo, here is the difficult part of organizing a FE exchange: When to cut off new participants, and how many cabins in each sub-group. I know from experience that we will have many late-comers to this thread who will want to join right up to a week before sailing!! Usually, a few more cruisers will most likely drop from the FE exchange in the next couple of months, as well.

I've been the FE Organizer for ten of our cruises. We've had as few as 5 cabins to as many as 58 cabins participating. Things got so crazy on my last cruise we ended up with two sub-groups that had many of the same people in both groups! Basically, the majority of cruisers felt "the more the merrier" but a handful of cruisers wanted to be in a small group. So, I put the few "smaller group" people into one small sub-group that also consisted of many of the larger group participants. It was way more complicated than it needed to be, but I was trying really hard to make everyone happy. In the end, I'm not sure it was worth all the trouble.

So, my advice would be to not set a specific number per group. It would be a lot easier to just set a cut off date for joining, stick firm to that date, and then divide everyone into two sub-groups. Another suggestion would be to split up cabins who are traveling together (like all your +1's, etc.) so that they don't end having to mostly just exchange with each other.

With the majority voting for cut off to be the end of July, there is still time

I have a conference near the end of July, and will be back on either July 24th or 25th. That will be it

When I get home, it will be time for me to get down to finishing all the final details of this trip. So, making the deadline coincide with my to do list will be what is going to work best. That way, I will be able to get the sub-groups set and all of the spread sheets out to everyone before my school year starts

With the addition of DisneyFan_SD we are sitting at 41 participating cabins....

My current plan is to get some feed back from all participants as to who is planning special FE's for kiddo's, and who is just making plain (for any one) FE's. That way, I can put those who have made kiddo FE's in a group where they can give to kiddo's.

And, I apologize that the other cruise thread for this date was not kept up. I have not been able to give Tink editing of the thread.

I am sorry we won't be meeting you, but I am still following the thread, and can not wait to hear all about the cruise. I have some FE gifts... , but now, they will sit and collect dust. We do not know when the time will ever come for a DCL trip, so, we shall live vicariously through all of you.

Yet, Tink is soooo on the ball with everything, and it sounds like a few more are helping out the organizing of the meets!

tiggerb, I am so sorry to hear this. I was hoping things were going well. We will keep you in our prayers and thoughts.

Tink, on a sad note, I would like to add the Colon Ca ribbon to our page. My brother has been diagnosed with Stage 4 Colon Ca, just had a large tumor removed and we know there is mets in the lung and liver. Please keep him and his family in prayer.
