Easter

We will be heading to WDW for Easter. The kids are 9 and 6. It has always been on my future Disney trip list to stay at GF for Easter. That is where we are currently booked. However, when booking I forgot that there will be construction going on then. Should we switch?
I am looking for Easter activities and displays in the lobby if possible. I would prefer a monorail resort since we are heading to MK to see the Easter parade. However, would consider other deluxe resorts if they have tons activities and displays.

I did try to find the Easter Day activities in each resort thread but only found CR (which looks great)

We were at Beach Club this past Easter and there were activities posted and happening, but they were all moved inside because the ground was wet outside. After our breakfast at Cape May we did a couple activities, but the lines were kind of long so we just decided to head to the MK for the parade.

Beach Club had an Easter egg display in the lobby and there was someone sitting outside the Marketplace making Easter Baskets for a few days before Easter.

I agree with PP. If you were to switch, I would consider BC (or even BCV). The lobby is bright and airy and has a more "spring" feeling than you will get at Poly or CR. Their displays are also, always, gorgeous. Maybe splurge a little on Easter and spring for a Minnie Van to MK? Recent reports of the GF main building are not good, IMHO, but who knows what it will look like in 7 months. It's just hard to predict when they haven't released a timeline.

Honestly, I think you will be fine to keep your reservation at VGF if I had to guess. IMHO, I think they will try to push through the majority of the lobby work so that they can have everything cleared out by Christmas. My family begins vacation there the day after Easter and I'm going to take the chance. It's our home resort though and I am dying to stay there if at all possible, so we have the week booked. We are new DVC members as of this year and have stays planned at other resorts before then so I'm really looking forward to it! Keeping our fingers crossed! :tink:

I don’t think there’s an Easter parade at MK. At least not like what used to be televised. We were there for 2 Easters in the last 4 years & haven’t seen or heard of an Easter parade. The first time we went on Easter (2018 or 19 I think) there were some CMs in those big, Southern gowns & parasols right inside the turnstiles, posing for pictures with guests. We went this year & didn’t even see any of that. The Easter Bunny was available for pictures.

edit: I guess there is a small cavalcade type thing that’s a few minutes long. But not like what used to be televised.
