I thought I should get this done before I start forgetting some of the finer details of our Easter weekend trip!
As I type this, I am watching the snow fall AGAIN  Yes...snow in May and I am missing Anaheim like crazy!
We ( Myself -39, Sister - 36 and Mom -59) flew into John Wayne on Thursday April 17. We took a cab to our motel. We stayed at the Super 8 on Katella - we were going strictly for budget. The cab ride cost us $36. The motel was clean and sufficient for what we needed. We only had 3 park days so decided before we left that we would not come back for an afternoon break therefore, only needing the motel to sleep. We had breakfast every morning at the motel - we had oatmeal, yogourt and coffee. Again, sufficient for us. We bought our parkhoppers from Super 8 for a fantastic price of $237!!!
We were at the gates by 7:15 on Friday morning. We intended to get in line and wait for EMH to be finished at DCA. And this is where our pixie dust started!!pixiedust:
When I asked the CM where they wanted us to wait out the time for park opening, she asked where we were from. I told her Alberta, Canada and she said she was going to work a little magic for us! She let us enter for EMH! I was so excited and was sure it was a sprinkling of pixiedust:
We headed to TSMM but it was down as well as GSS and Cars. We ended up just walking the park and taking in the atmosphere without crowds. Rode Soarin and then got a coffee. Got FP for Cars at 8:15 for 9:30-10:30.We went at 9:30 for our FP but it Cars was down. CM's told us to come back before 10:30 to see if it was up and running. IF it wasn't by then, then we were able to use our FP whenever it suited us. We headed over to TSMM as it was down earlier in the morning. 45min wait. We got in line and started to panic a little as we knew that we wouldn't be able to stay in the line and ride without missing the 10:30 deadline and I REALLY didn't want to lose our FP's. So we got out of line, quickly went to Cars only to find it was still down :sad1: I spoke to a CM, he said to check back again and that even if we are at a ride, we can ask a CM to call over to see if it is up before heading back. I told him that info would have been good about 15mins ago when we got OUT of the TSMM line to come back :rotfl: He says to me - wait right here....
He comes back and says he has called over to the Toy Story ride and gave me the name of the CM working there, she is waiting for us to skip the line and put us right on!! pixiedust: Now I am sure pixie dust is following us!! I nearly kissed him I was so excited! So we quickly head to TSMM and there the CM was waiting for us! So wonderful!! Saw the Malificent preview at Bugs theatre. GRR was about a 20min wait, used free lockers. Lunch at Bakery - sourdough bread bowls of soup. SO good. Rode Cars at 4pm. Had supper at WCT for WOC meal. Food was super, service was great. Went to find queue for WOC at about 7:45 but there wasn't anything happening. A CM came up to us and asked my mom to pick a hand. She, of course :lmao:, picks the wrong one and he encourages her to pick the "other" right hand! He had a fastpass for our choice of ride for anytime during our visit! Again pixiedust:, pixie dust is following us! Unofficially queued up for WOC at 8:15ish. Got raised rail section - thanks to Hydroguy's wonderful directions! Show was magical! Got a charm at Elias and company for my bracelet - the castle! I was so excited! Turtle Talk with Crush - picked my mom to talk to! pixiedust:
Magic morning at DL on Saturday. Crowds were light but got heavier in the day, reminded me of a day in July. Got FL done along with SW and MH done by park opening. Went to TT - I really am not a fan of TT, but that said, I don't have small ones either. Rides were average 15-30min wait until late afternoon where Pirates was 50mins. Used our FP from the CM for Splash. Ate at Hungry Bear. Got Tigger Tails, watched Mickey and the Magical Lamp. Checked out the Rabbits and Easter eggs at Jamboree. Big Thunder is SUPER FANTASTIC with the new refurb! Rode it during the day and at night! Watched F! with the light standard trick - perfect! I LOVE F! Park was REALLY crowded. Trying to get out was difficult.
Sunday we started at DCA at rope drop to get a Cars FP. It's the first rope drop I have been at and I sure hope the last! People are crazy and I am sure glad I didn't have kids with me! Crowds were low - Cars FP were still available at 11:30! I was shocked. Cozy Cone churros are sweet! Was a beautiful hot day - GRR - 15min wait! Watched Alladin. Hopped over to DL (3:30) - most rides were only 15min wait. Star Tours - 20mins etc. and this was in the mid afternoon! BTMRR 15mins etc. Watched the parade at the hub with dole whips MMMM! Got a spot for fireworks right behind the rope in front of the castle! A sitting spot which was awesome for my Mom! Walked on to Pirates twice after Fireworks. Star Tours - sister was picked as rebel spy pixiedust:
This trip was magical beyond my wildest expectations! I had a birthday pin for the trip and it was so exciting to have so many people wish me a Happy Birthday! Even the performers IN the parade were mouthing wishes to me - the very cute chimney sweeps
What an overwhelming, spectacular, MAGICAL place to spend my first vacation with my mom and sister AND to celebrate my birthday there! I am truly blessed!
