Easter Week

What is Easter week like? We are ready to book our week and this is the time that works for our party. We will be come in Thursday April 21 thur April 28 2011. It`s our 1st time at DL.Wanting to know about weather & crowds.

I'm interested to hear about Easter week also. We are booked on the Disney repo cruise leaving LA on 4/27. We are arriving at LAX around 2pm on Sat. 4/23 - booked at Park Vue Inn 4/23-4/27.

We've (me, DD13, DS11) have never been to CA. We'd like to spend 2 days at DL and maybe a Hollywood tour. I'm thinking Monday 4/25 and Tuesday 4/26 will be better at DL than Easter Sunday.

We were there for spring break last year. We arrived the Monday before Easter, stayed in DL through Good Friday, then left for San Diego for Easter weekend through Tuesday.

I noticed a SIGNIFICANT jump in crowds Thursday and Friday. Lines were not unbearable, but we stayed on East Coast time most of the trip, so we were up and at the parks for rope drop and got lots done before the mid-morning rush. (Downside to that was we were exhausted at fireworks time LOL) I had originally booked the San Diego portion of the trip for the beginning, but was soooo happy I switched everything around. Its a holiday, so it'll be crowded.

A decent amount of schools in the SoCal area have Spring Break the week before and week after Easter. Being an AP, I stay away at this time of year due to the jump in crowds. I think as long as you have a good amount of time, which it seems you do, you shouldn't have a problem getting through the park. Just take a breath and remember to have fun!

I've been to DLR Paris at Christmas and there were lines everywhere for 120 minutes. Even to get a cup of hot chocolate

This sums it up well. It was busy this year during spring break/Easter time. You just have to take it slow. 60 to 90 minutes for some of the headliners is not uncommon. I'd go another time if you had the option.

Well DAPs are blocked on the Fri & Sat of Easter weekend *I wonder why not Easter Sun. The S CA APs are blocked the last 2 full weeks of April *that should help* we visited DLR this past 4th of July weekend all 3 blockable APs were blocked 7/3-7/5 ~ we had a fantastic time.

We have been during the week before or the week after Easter five out of the last six years. We have found the week after Easter better than the week before. Good Friday was crazy busy the couple of times we were there for that. Interestingly, a Saturday often tends to be one of the better days. I suspect part of that may be that people coming from out of town often use it as a travel day, and many of the locals are blocked out or fear how busy the parks will be. Easter Sunday itself is usually lovely until 11ish, and then we head over to DCA. Perhaps other people start their morning out with church, brunch, or Easter egg hunts, but we're in line for DL before 8 AM on Easter. If you go in prepared for the parks to be busy, get up early for park opening and Magic Morning when you have it, and utilize fastpass well, you can still have a great time despite the crowds.
