Easter week discount?

What are the odds of a discount being released for that week? When do they usually add new discounts? Any info would be appreciated.

I think a discount during Easter week (as with Christmas week) is darned rare - almost zero possibility. Although I do believe that there was a promo in 2010 with blackout dates during Easter week and just before (maybe in late Feb?) the holiday, the blackout dates were lifted. But I wouldn't hold my breath on it happening again.

Discounts are offered to fill empty rooms. If occupancy is low then you may see a discount. If you go by history, be prepared to pay full price. Normally the week before and week after Easter Sunday has always been blacked out of discounts.

A room only discount came out this week. It starts on April 28th, which is the Thursday after Easter.

The week leading up to Easter is also holiday pricing, i have discounted rooms in my wedding block still open at Caribbean beach, Boardwalk and Pop Century if anyone is interested please email me at amc609@aol.com. Anyone who wants a room 4/13-4/23 or after if you check in during that time.

Last year (2010) disney offered same deal that was surrounding the easter weeks, but it didn't open up more than a few weeks prior to the time period. We had wilderness already booked for week prior to easter last year and was prepared to pay full price, but then was able to use the 40 percent off room only that was going on surrounding the blackout weeks. There is hope.

It's such a bummer to go when it's busy and then pay the higher costs too - but when you have teens it's hard to take them out of school! We are going Apr 13-20 and booked ASMusic with a kids play free discount for the 13-16th...better part of the days than none! Maybe it will work out for you for a couple of days too...Good luck - Julie

Public schools throught the country usually have either the week before Easter or the week after Easter off. This is when people with children in school feel it is "safe" to take the kids on a week vacation and not affect their schoolwork.

During these two weeks Disney goes to additional hours and there may be Stage Closings in the Parks due to crowding. They are usually able to fill just about all Resort rooms without discounts.

Is there any valid business reason for Disney to offer discounts during this period?

And, yes, they are offering discounts starting the Thursday after Easter, but this is for new reservations and by then they are starting to pick up families that are not looking for Spring Break days off from schools.
