Just thought I'd share my dining experiences from this past week.
Liberty Tree Tavern - we visited in December when it reopened. We really enjoyed it so my daughter asked to return on this trip. They were running 30 minutes behind and there were a lot of cranky people milling around the waiting area. We were seating in an L shaped booth right next to the kitchen entry/exit which wasn't ideal, but it is what it is. The service was SLOW. Our server was very nice, but watching him work, it was obvious that he couldn't multi task so that made things even slower. In any case, the food was slightly less appetizing than our last visit. The portions were much smaller (which was fine since in December it seemed wasteful). There also wasn't any corn or Mac and cheese this time (sadness). For dessert we got the cranapple tart and enough ice cream to feed about 5 people. That was ok by my daughter. LOL Overall it wasn't worth the long wait and slow service.
Be Our Guest - We did breakfast in December here as well. We enjoyed it, but definitely feel like it's a "one and done" restaurant. That being said, there was a 7:30 PPO breakfast available the week before we went so I grabbed it. We have never done a PPO meal before and it was worth the experience of feeling like you have the park to yourself. Not sure I would do it again as it made us miserable for the rest of the day (even with a break), but fun to feel like you have the park to yourself. Daughter had the croissant donut and I had the kids bacon and eggs. That with the pastries is more than enough for us. We also grabbed a Masters cupcake since we had been dying to try it. Not worth it. It actually tasted bland.
Earl of Sandwich - This definitely lived up to the hype. The line was long and there was only one person taking orders, which stunk, but the food was fantastic. I had the cobb salad and my daughter had the chicken ceasar wrap. Both were fantastic.
Chef Mickey's - This is somehow a favorite for my daughter. I scored a last minute 8pm dinner so we headed over. The food was SLIGHTLY better than previous visits, but I do chalk the whole meal up to the experience. We both ate the carved turkey (slightly dry), mashed potatoes, salad, rolls, and I can't remember what else. The raspberry ginger mojito was delicious though.
The Wave - Another one that lived up to the hype. We had breakfast here and the service was excellent. The food was great, but the eggs were a little running. Otherwise everything was hot and fresh and delicious. I had bacon, eggs, biscuit and lots of fruit. Daughter as mostly the same. Oddly enough, the restaurant was half empty but they were turning people away at the podium which was weird.
Rosie's All American Cafe - We were waiting for RnR Fast Passes so we stopped to have lunch here. It took 45 minutes to order and get our food which was ridiculous. I had a burger and my daughter had chicken nuggets. The food was good, but definitely not worth the wait. We also had the BB8 cupcake (lemon with buttercream icing and chocolate rocks) which was AWESOME! I know the park was crowded, but it still should not have taken this long.
Trail's End - My husband was returning from a trip to Miami so we snagged a last minute dinner here. The whole vibe of the campground was super relaxed and fun. The kids just ran and played made up games and everyone was included. It was nice to see this after the hustle and bustle of the parks. We had not eaten here before and felt like it was a hidden gem! We had pulled pork, corn, cornbread, salad, mashed potatoes, mac and cheese and an ungodly amount of desserts. We were actually sick when we left because we ate way too much. I also had a strawberry lemonade moonshine cocktail which was great. We would highly recommend this place!
Beaches and Cream - We had been wanting to eat here for a long time but ADRs seem hard to come by. The restaurant is TINY so now I understand why. We arrived at 12:30 for a 1pm reservation because I misjudged the time it would talk to walk to IG and over to the BC. We could see empty tables inside but were told they couldn't check us in until 10 minutes prior. They were also turning people away at the door. at 12:50 I checked in and they gave me a buzzer even though I was the only person sitting 2 feet away from them. Then at 1pm, they buzzed me and took us inside. Again, there were empty seats. The food and service were great and we really enjoyed out meal here. I had the turkey and smoked gouda sandwich and my daughter had the burger. We split a milky way sundae which was enormous and could have served 4. We left there stuffed and happy.
Teppen Edo - My daughter had been begging to eat here. The place was packed but they were very efficient. Our chef (is that what you call them?) was hard to understand and not all that entertaining. We found ourselves watching the show at the other tables more than our own. The food was fine, but definitely not worth the price. I had the miso soup and daughter had the tempura to start. The tempura was cold and tasted like it was made hours prior. We both had the chicken for dinner which was fine but nothing exciting.
Overall nothing was terrible. Some things could have been better but we walked away from the trip feeling happy with our choices and experiences.
