I am from Mass and our vacation week is not around Easter, but Patriots day. Unfortunately, Patriots day will be the Monday before Easter next year. Therefore, we will be at Disney the week before Easter. Can anyone tell me how bad it is? Please be truthful, because we may just go somewhere else. Is the week before Easter worse then the week after Easter?

P.S. Is it impossible to get ressies at BWV at the 7 month window during the week before Easter? I will most likely be looking for a studio.

As you point out, it's not so much Easter but how the school vacations fall that can increase the crowds. Easter being APril 20 next year puts it in the middle of many vacations. Schools in our area will be off the week prior to Easter (need to be back in school the day after Easter). However, other school systems in our area would be on vacation the week after. That's the way it is this year. Some just went back Monday....some are off this week.

It will be busy. There's no two ways around it. I don't think getting something at BWV will be easy, but it also wouldn't be impossible. Chances are you might have to stay on the waiting list to get all your nights.

Since Easter is the 20th of April, I bet that most schools that take break at Easter will be doing it the week before. Most schools in Illinois take break the week before Easter if it is in April and the week after if it lands in March. If you go be ready for very large crowds in the parks.

I was there the week before and the week after this Easter. They are about the same. I was in a real panic about having to go at this time, since I hate crowds and have always made a point to go when it was uncrowded. But by getting there before the gate opens and using fast pass, we went on everything we wanted to with not more than a 15 minute wait. We left the parks about 12:00 or 1:00 or so, when it was getting so thick we had to fight our way out. MK was by far the worst. We didn't notice it so much at the other parks. It can be done.

It's very crowded, Parks are open late, all of the rides are open and The Weather is Great!!! This Past Easter Week It rained one day other than that mid to high 80's but no humidity.
Going again next Easter.

In our area of Illinois, schools are out starting the last Monday in March...western suburbs of Chicago. There was a post about when everyone had their spring breaks. It was on either the resort or theme park board...perhaps you could try a search and at least get an idea how many areas will be off at your time. Easter was at the end of our week this year. We were there from the 21-28 and found the parks very manageable...but we always go at opening and leave by noon or after lunch.

Though spring break periods vary, it is still true that the majority of scholls have theirs the week before Easter or the week beginning with Easter. In the thirteen times we have been (which has covered both weeks) we have found that both are equally crowded. Some have reported the belief that the first week is less crowded and just as many have reported the same thing as to the second. Trust me, they are both about the same regardless of when Easter falls. And they are both extremely crowded. Some don't mind that too much and report that they did not believe it was that crowded; others experience it and vow never to return again. So how you perceive and react to huge crowds is key. You do not say whether you have ever been before, but generally those easter weeks are about twice as crowded as other spring break weeks; 60% larger than summer crowds; 3 to 4 times larger than off-season crowds; and comparable in size to Christmas week crowds. One way I think of to measure crowd size is to think of the ride that usually has the longest line any time of year -- Test Track. At Easter time, its average wait time without fastpass goes to 3 hours or more for essentially the whole day and evening. During many off-seasons it is less than 30 minutes.

It appears that is does not matter if it is the week before or after. I think we might still try it and expect the worst. If we hate it, then we will not do it again until our spring break is not around Easter.
