We have never been to Disneyland. We go to WDW every year and plan to go in May 2009. We may have the opportunity, if things work out like we plan, to go to DLR during the week of April 13th. It is Easter week, which happens to be Spring Break for us. We would not go til mid week and would stay 2 to 3 days and also head to San Diego and go to Legoland and the San Diego Zoo. How are the crowds during Easter week? I know at WDW, it is very crowded.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Its my goal to make it to every Disney Park at least once and we have a chance to head to go. We just are not sure our timing is right. Thanks!

Based upon my experience last year, of not paying attention to the simple fact that I would be visiting Disneyland in Ca. during the week of Easter, (I wish that I had paid attention, and how!) I cannot recommend to visit during that time frame. I have read many other posts regarding this subject, in this forum, stating the same. If this is the only time that you will be able to visit Disneyland, please do not be deterred in doing so. For no matter what season, etc. there is always a chance for a large crowd level. For me, I regretted going during the week of Easter, for I do not care for long waits for anything, and cannot stand huge crowds. Then to top it off, I am not a fan of too much sun, the several days that I was fortunate enough to visit the park, the weather was more hot than not. It was not horrible, mind you, but for me, it was too hot. Never again, will I ever plan a visit to the Mouse during the week of Easter, unless I will know for a fact, that it will not be too crowded.
If you do visit during that time, it is so important to arrive to Disneyland before or as close as possible, for it's opening. Get fast passes, for all of your favorite rides (Some have FP, some do not) Study the map, see the lay of the land, and plan accordingly.
The rule of thumb for visiting Disneyland during spring break, since it coincides normally with Easter, is not to visit the week before and the week after Easter. Again though, if that is the only time that one can do so, just keep in mind the above suggestions, and you will be fine. Also, the fast passes can be used beyond their time stamp, for the same day. So what many like to do is, collect their fast passes in the a.m. the earlier the better, continue to collect them, throughout the day, leave the park for a rest break during the day (When the crowd level can be especially thick) then come back later in the day, or evening and use your fast passes.
Remember to ask for your first time visitor button at City Hall, there are other locations as well, such as a number of shops and restaurants at Dl. as well as at the various Disney resorts.
There is a Hydro Guy sticky at the top of this forum with information for
experienced WDW visitors that are planning a trip to Disneyland. I believe that you will find it helpful.

I am hoping that you and your family will have a most wonderful and magical time during your trip and visit to Disneyland and to California.
