We were planning to go to DLP at Easter again next year and doing similar to the last 2 years and incorporating it into a 2 week holiday in France- part at DLP and part on a campsite.

However the spanner has been thrown into the works and a different option made available.:confused3 :confused3

DDs school are changing the holiday pattern so instead of having 2 weeks at Easter they are going to have a shorter break then a full 2 weeks at May half term.(Last wk May and first wk June) So we are now wondering whether to go in May/June instead and are weighing up the pros and cons of each.
:headache: :headache:

Easter- will still be during 15th celebrations as very early next year. Also will still probably be EMH available. But was VERY VERY busy this and last year. However looking at school hols for France in 2008 dont seem to be on holiday then but have Spring break in April.

May/June - Weather may be warmer- (but this Easter was sooo hot so may not be the case). Park may be quieter as France not on school hols (but not at Easter either) But will be outside 15th and EMH may no longer exist.

Have looked at park hrs for this June and open much shorter hours than at Easter but may not nec be open long hours next Easter. It may also mean the park is less busy. It will be interesting to see why everything is booked early June this year as on another thread and read reports from that time of year.

Other advantage may be for other part of holiday in that more campsites may be open- we found a limited choice at Easter and may be brave enough to risk a tent (!!!!) at that time of year but def no no at Easter It has to be mobile home which is more expensive

We intend buying APs this summer so will still be valid (whereas if we had bought at Easter as we'd looked into but ended up not getting them they wouldnt have been phew!!!)

Any suggestions or preferences?

:cheer2:

I think you are talking about my thread?

I would also like to know why everybody wants to go this year in early June? :confused3

The park is only open until 7pm this first week of June!
And there are no holidays in France and I can't find any holidays on the "Stickey" for the UK! :confused3

I think it depends on how much you want to be involved in 15th anniversary celebrations.

Easter is so early next year it may be dry but will be cold, crowds may be less because of the time of year even though it is Easter, park hours will probably be longer.

I have never been at Easter but I have been the last week of May with 3 small children. The parks were more than manageable - we always got in for opening and did our fantasyland rides first and got fastpasses. The crowds and queues got bigger later in the day but by that time we were concentrating on shows, parades and shops! The weather was fantastic:cool1: however, friends went the same time the following year and it rained a lot - so no guarantees in Paris.

I was planning on going May 2008 at half term my dilemma now is HSM this summer which we all really want to see:cheer2:

Personally I'd go for may/june.. It's less crowded, probably get more done, it's cheaper, the weather will probably be nicer as easter is so early..

I'd also look at the end of the 15th Birthday celebrations as a pro! It means that there may be new parades, and some more new stuff going on...

But I think either way you'll have a really good time.

We have done both. The weather was nicer at Easter than the previous May! Definitely more crowded at Easter but it was still very busy at the end of May during the our half term. The good thing about Easter is the late opening and seeing the park at night.

I would always go for a time with less people. The second week of your daughter's two week break will not be a holiday for a lot of British schools (it isn't for us) and is not a holiday in France - so I would plan to go then. The park hours are shorter but if you have annual passes you can do more days and take things at a more relaxed pace.

Thanks for all your advice. We will have to have a good think about this one - Im swaying towards May/June now.
Whatever we do I know we'll have a brill time again and want to go back yet again and again and again.

Yep -
another vote for May/June - we've done both now and May/June was MUCH quieter lines wise. I can't imagine that they will stop ALL the celebration stuff anyhow - they must have made sooooo much money on an extra candleabration being at 9pm most nights - people stay in the park, buy extra snacks etc etc... I should think that if they don't keep it, it will be replaced by something else... and EMH will probably have to continue too - or Disney may just have a riot on their hands!!!;)
