Our trip was booked last July when Easyjet released their winter flights from Edi to CDG For 4 of us total flights was £197 which is a great price – too good not to book in fact
We checked in early at Edinburgh after depositing Susan’s car at the long stay car park and went up to wetherspoon’s for some lunch . Paninis for the Mummies (Susan and I) and Spag bog for Zoe(almost 4) and Fish for Jess(5).
The flight was busy but we were in the first boarding group and managed to get seats behind each other near the front. Zoe slept most of the way. Susan read a magazine and Jess and I played snap and played with her DS a little.
On arrival at CDG our cases arrived promptly and we headed out to meet RS transport. Our driver was waiting but had two name cards and we were first to arrive. We then had to wait around another 20-30 minutes for the next family to arrive.
This is the first time we’ve had a shared shuttle and I think I would prefer to pay the extra and have one to ourselves as it seemed a long time to wait for our little ones who were excited about getting to the park. The other thing that put me off sharing was that the bus then only had two child seats – one baby and one booster. We had requested two boosters and as the other family had an even smaller child the baby seat obviously had to be given to them which meant my DD as the oldest child had no safety seat.
I wasn’t happy about this but the driver said there was nothing he could do (and to be fair it wasn’t marked on his form although it was on my confirmation). He phoned the office and I spoke to someone there but they didn’t seem overly bothered either.
I have sent an email on my return as we also didn’t have any booster seats for the return journey. Definitely a black mark on RS ‘s otherwise clean sheet (which is a shame as we have used them about 4 times before and have never had any issues
)
On arrival at the Marriot we were allocated a ‘special’ room in the main building . This was due to my silver rewards card status , which I’ve achieved from my last few trips.
Our room/ house ,as always was gorgeous.
We took about an hour to unpack and explore (we had a terrace overlooking the pool instead of a garden) before ordering a private taxi (18€) to take us to the parks. As it was Easter Monday the park was open until 9pm so we thought it was worth going in for the last hour and a half.
Susan bought her and Zoe’s annual passes and there was some debate
about how we could get these upgraded as the CM thought the AP office was closed but it turned out to be open after all and we headed into the park.
Our first stop as ever was IASW which the girls loved.
It was then time to get ready for the candle ceremony. We arrived about 20 mins before this started and had the girls on a bench only to have a man who must have been related to the jolly green giant
stand in front of them with minutes to go. Susan put Zoe up on her shoulders but Jess wasn’t so keen to do this so we had a bit of a restricted view of the stage although we saw the castle very well. It was lovely.
After this we headed into Fantasyland to IASW again (our girls
love it
) , the teacups , carousel and Peter Pan. All the rides were pretty much a walk on –even Peter Pan only had a 5-10 minute queue.
We then had a turn on Buzz and some retail therapy in the shop nearby before heading back for the 2145 bus to the hotel.
