Shoes,
We do the same thing, that is a Hungarian traditional breakfast. You take some sliced eggs, put a slice on a slice of Keilbasi and top with homemade horseradish. The white stuff is the best, it cleans out the sinuses so nice.
I can remember doing this since I was a little girl, but back then my mom would get the really mild horseradish for us kids. It was like a ceremony when we were able to take the tough stuff.
My boys used to love to color eggs on Sat night before Easter. They are all very artistic so each one had to top the next. But this year David is with his girlfriend and he helped her son color eggs. Sean is living with his father now so he wasn't here, and Chris was working. So I colored eggs alone. Boring solid color eggs. Don't ever wish they would grow up, it happens too soon and how I wish they were little again.
I used to hide plastic eggs in the yard, each boy had a favorite color and they had to find their own eggs. Each egg had a little surprise in it, and they were hidden according to the age, as they got older the eggs were hidden better. My mom used to hide colored eggs, until one year my brother failed to find one in the china cabinet. Eggs really stink when they are 4 months old and you drop them.
Whatever traditions you decide on, remember your children will remember them and carry them on with their children too, so it's not so much what you do, but that they remember the fun you all had. Peggie
