Do you think an 'extra' EMH will be added over Easter weekend?

In particular hoping for morning EMH at MK

I don't know for sure but our experiences over Christmas have been additional hours added and expect the same for Easter weekend. Unfortunately, this year additional hours were added only about a month out.

I am expecting some additional hours for MK around Easter, and will be pretty disappointed if there aren't. There have been hours added about a month or two out the last few times we've gone at Easter, including last year.

What I think is different this year is that the current calendar has the MK opening at 9 every day, except for the usual one AM EMH a week. The last few years I thought they had 9 AM opening with 8 AM EMH listed for every day the week before and after Easter and then changed it to 7AM EMH and 8 AM regular opening about 6 weeks out.

Maybe they aren't expecting as big a crowd this year, but with Easter being in March I would think it might be more crowded than usual. We'll see soon enough.

With Easter in March the crowds will be HUGE - there will be a lot of late hours that week.

I'm hoping for 7am EMH at MK on Easter Sunday. If it doesn't happen, it doesn't happen, but my tentative itinerary is based on the assumption that it will.

I was there last year for Easter & they didn't add the late hours until a couple months out, so keep checking.

Okay, now what? We are only about a month away from Easter and still no extra 8am openings at Magic Kingdom and no extra EMHs!!! What is going on??? It will be a nightmare if they don't add EMH and 8am openings at Magic Kingdom over Easter week. I think it will be worse than Christmas with Easter AND spring break crowds. The only way to manage it is with early and late EMHs. What is Disney thinking?????!!!!!!!!

I'm still optimistic. I'm not seeing extra runs of the MK parades (especially hoping for early FoF/Easter pre-parade.)
I've heard of Disney updating park hours and EMH at the last minute. Sometimes I wonder if they try to have "surprise" extended hours to sort of reward the spontaneous folks and maybe avoid stampedes and other insanity.

I have been waiting for the extended hours too. I will be at WDW March 24 - April 1. It's already the middle of February so hope they don't wait too much longer to post the hours.

My Dad, sister, and I will be there March 26-April 1 and we too are hoping for the 8 am openings with 7 am EMH at Magic Kingdom, and will be extremely disappointed if they don't have them. We're not liking the way the park hours are looking right now with less than 6 weeks to go. I'm a bit worried about it too, because I can't imagine the insanity of 9 am openings that week. Opening at MK can be crazy enough even when it's not a holiday week. I guess the 7 am openings aren't a necessity, but we go frequently at Spring Break/Easter time, and we've gotten used to them and have started planning for them. We get a lot done during that time. At the very least, I'm hoping they add more 8 am EMH.

I'm playing the waiting game too. Its about to bust up my 8am prepark adrs...which is fine. I would just like to know already!!! I'm getting stir crazy. :fish:

It's our first trip and I stressed getting those adrs 180 days out. Just for them to switch up the hours later. It has been stressful, especially when it seems like detailed planning is part of a successful trip during peak times! I'm just ready for my plans to be final. I'm still super excited though!!!:mickeyjum

Just seen someone posted there has been some schedule changes...but I don't see any 7 am emh. I wonder if that could change?

Fingers crossed! I am dying to get my schedule finalized! Here's hoping for 8am openings with 7am EMHs!!!!!:surfweb:

:disrocks::banana::cheer2::thumbsup2 You were right!!! I just went on the Disney site and it is showing 8am openings every day Easter week at Magic Kingdom!!! They haven't changed EMHs yet but I bet they will!! Yay!!!!!!!

The week prior to Easter has not changed. Strange
Easter Sunday itself is still at 9am. That's really weird. Oh well. Part of me kind of hopes it stays that way. We have an 8:30 BOG breakfast ADR, so we'd at least get to walk through a fairly empty park on the way to that. But I bet it will change.

Our experience from many Easter trips is that Easter Sunday itself is not quite as crowded as the days immediately following it. So, it may not be that strange that just those following days have had the hours extended for now. I wouldn't be shocked if they move the opening up for a few more days, especially for the week before Easter, which I would think will also be very crowded with the different spring break schedules in different parts of the country. I don't expect them to add more AM EMH.

We will be there at the same time and I keep checking the hours but so far no change. As I write this we are getting ready for our first big snow storm of the season. Its 6:50am here and the weather reporters still don't know how bad it will be but they are saying anywhere from 3 to 7 inches and for the heaviest snow to be falling during my commute home. I will be so ready for WDW by the end of March!! Let's hope for those extended hours.
