Easter holidays

You may all know this anyway but I thought I would post just in case. At the college where I work we were given our new holiday dates for next year and as well as the Easter break not being over Easter its also now only a week long. Its been decided that we will only have a week off then so that students have more teaching before exams, to make up for it we finish a week earlier in July. From what I can gather other colleges/schools may also do the same. So if you usually go away at Easter you might only be able to get away for a week.

Just checked at my daughters college for 2008 Jen and they break up Thursday 20th March and go back 7th April, so it appears that its still the same 2 weeks here in Wales. Thank you for the info though as Im sure many people do book 2 weeks holiday at Easter.

Our local schools are the same - the LEA are introducing the 6-week term here. I like the fact that the Easter break doesn't fall over Easter - cheap holiday for us

We've been skiing to the States the last couple of Easters, but next year it would not really be possible because in my school we have Easter off at the end of March, and then the two week Easter hols don't fall until a week later - this would be too late to (almost) guarantee reasonable snow conditions. Hey ho, Florida beckons then

Essex schools are breaking up on the 31st March for 2 weeks so just after the Easter weekend.

I have been looking at Florida for this time next year but can't say I'm finding it any cheaper

We have just booked a fly drive with VH for £3137 (6 adults, 1 child) departing on 10th April. 2 weeks before that it would be costing us £5900ish

I know Joh and that sadly is exactly when we are looking for. I wish Essex would've made the holiday dates a bit later At the moment I'm waiting for the VA flights to come up to see if I can wangle Miles or miles + money.
