Easter - Does the Easter bunny bring presents?

In the past, I would get DS3 and DD10 a spring outfit to wear on Easter Sunday. DD likes the dresses, but DS could care less. They both have a bunch of cloths, I don't think they'll be missing out if I skip it this year.

the Easter Bunny leave a basket for each of them filled with cabury eggs and a chocolate bunny (no jelly beans) and some goodies like coloring books with crayons, bubbles, and such. He also leave one DVD. The night before we color eggs. Sometime between breakfast and luch, I'll go outside and hide them along with some plastic eggs filled with chocolate, money, or lotery ticktes.

I remeber being a kid and looking for the eggs, we had a dog who would always find one and eat it for herself. Odd, though, that she only ate one.

The kids' Easter baskets are a celebration of spring for us so no movies or video games ever go in it. Instead they get things like kites, sunglasses, sidewalk chalk, etc. One year they all got a new scooter, one year it was bikes, last year a bounce house. The years they get big things actually work out cheaper than filling 5 baskets of little things. I just try to find them things they can play with outside. And they also get candy.

I still do an egg hunt for them with a combo of plastic and real eggs.

We aren't religious so we celebrate Easter as a purely secular event with the Easter bunny & lots of Easter eggs.

DD is still little so we don't do a lot yet, but I'll answer this in terms of our future plans for when she gets bigger.

We dye Easter eggs & they're in the basket in the morning, but they quickly get taken out & turned into deviled eggs for dinner. Baskets are hidden and you have to search for them in the morning. Once DD gets old enough for the city-wide Easter egg hunt, we'll do that. Until then, my parents hide eggs for her at their house (who knows, maybe they'll keep doing it).

Gifts are whatever fits in the basket... though her basket is ENORMOUS and pretty stuffed to the brim. This year DD is getting Bambi & Tangled on Blu-Ray, a ballerina Belle doll, a new Barbie car & those little Barbie kids (not Skipper but the toddler-sized ones).

She also gets candy. I'm making peanut butter & caramel eggs and I'll probably get her some jelly beans and some healthier treat.

My parents go overboard on holidays (I still get a basket and until DD was born, an easter egg hunt ) and I know she'll be getting a TON of candy (and gifts) there... and DH & I will be getting a lot of candy too.

Our Easter baskets have mostly candy, and each child gets a small gift, less than $20. At this point of the year, we're kind of gifted out.

So far we've gotten them each a stuffed animal (one bunny, one duck) and two books each. They are only 10 months, so no candy yet, but someday I'll put candy in their baskets and we'll also color Easter eggs and in the morning do an Easter egg hunt.

Growing up, Dh & I both got one present from the Easter Bunny so we're carrying on that tradition with DD. We don't let DD have alot of candy so we mostly put treats like fruit snacks, granola bars & a package of goldfish crackers in the basket and add a few pieces of chocolate.

I ABSOLUTELY LOVEEEE this..while our kids will get "essential" goodies such as PJ's, etc. I think it is very important they know what a special and important day that is!!

Our Easter baskets usually consist of a spring/summer outfit, new swimsuit, trinkets (DD nail art), stickers/tattoos, a book (this year DD a craft book, DS a cartooning book), Japanese erasers, chocolate bunny and a "sprinkle" of candy for looks. I'm including $10 Disney gift cards for our trip in the fall.

Most of the candy is in our Egg hunt that we do with their cousin (less candy that way, yay!) My kids still have left over candy from Halloween so less candy = less for mom to eat .

We are usually on a trip somewhere for Easter so the bunny puts things in the basket that re good for the trip. Bathing suit, sunglasses, flip-flops, goggles, dvd, book, and a video game (these are usually standard). Sometimes, bubbles, sidewalk chalk, etc. but my kids are growing out of that. The bunny puts some candy in, but not a whole lot.

I admit the Easter bunny has gone way overboard these past few years.

When I was a kid all we got was candy!

Now the dd's get a new swim suit, new pajamas, a personalized beach towel,
goggles (can you guess we have a pool?), perfume, lip glosses, a game and candy. Ds gets a new swim suit, pajamas, personalized beach towel, Phillies jersey and other Phillies paraphenila, goggles, a Wii game and candy.

Of course a $25 gift card to Disney is always included!

Older kids all get gift cards and I make up baskets for my grandchildren with personalized beach towels, small toys, gift card to an indoor waterpark and candy.

Now that my kids are getting older, Easter (as far as Easter baskets go) has become much more low-key. They each receive a small package of Peeps (they're favorite!), a book OR a tee-shirt and a small chocolate bunny OR their favorite chocolate candy (box of Junior Mints, Three Musketeers bar, etc.).

The Easter Bunny brings both me and my 26 year old DBF presents We go all out with baskets for each other-- so far, I have a trivia game, fancy boxers, and a fancy tee to go in his. He'll be getting more gifts, candy, and specialty food, as well.

For this year the Easter Bunny is planned to bring:

DS - Disney DVD (not sure what title yet), 2 Thomas take along train, a pair of pjs & 1 small chocolate bunny
DD1 - Disney Princess Story dvd, 1 Aurora princess doll (barbie sized), Aurora dress up set (crown, rings, braclets, ect), Aurora dress us dress (got a great deal at JC Penny!) & 1 small chocolate bunny
DD2 - 2 outfits and a Disney plush toy that rattles when you shake it (not sure who it is yet since my mom got it from the Disney store for me on her way home from work).

DD1 has a milk allergy so we don't do a lot of chocolate & candy since it makes her sick.

We will also color eggs the night before Easter & do some Easter egg hunts. I found my girls these cute pink bunny ears at Target for $1 each. I'm trying to find a blue pair for my son so they can all wear them for Easter pictures.

We color eggs a few days before Easter. Easter morning the *bunny* hides plastic treat-filled eggs all over our house. We have two golden eggs....one for each son, which normally contain a $5.00 bill. The other eggs have candy and coins in them. The boys get up early so they can search for the eggs before Church.

Our boys baskets (they've had since they were babies) contain their favorite snacks/candy, sugar free gum, a new bathing suit, DVD for each and maybe a Wii or DS game for our oldest son, and a toy for whatever our youngest is into at the time.

We are Christians and our family celebrates Jesus' promise to all who believe and receive Him. After Church services, we go to my MIL and SIL's homes (they live beside each other) and have Easter lunch and then a huge egg hunt in their yards. The plastic eggs are filled with dollars, coins and candy. There are 5 grandsons ranging from 2 to 16 - and sometimes other family members are there as well. It is a wonderful day of celebration and family time.

The Easter bunny brings baskets to our house. This year the boys each have a DVD and lots-o-mickey stuff for our upcoming trip (an art portfolio set for my older son in the car, board books for my toddler, thermos cups to keep drinks cool, probably some sunglasses, an outfit) then I have a bunch of little things for their baskets - Books, puzzles, little toys and cars, etc. The only downside to their baskets this year is I'm going to have to discretely hide and stash away some of their gifts or else they'll be lost/broken before we go!! Our kids don't know we're going yet but I still think through distraction I'll be able to manage
