Easter Discounts Question

It seems that there is availability in just about every category of the deluxe resorts for the week after Easter this year. Will Disney try to fill these rooms with discounts or would they let them go unsold? What has been the practice in the past?

I know it is a peak week and they usually don't offer discounts at that time but we sailed on DCL a couple of years ago during Easter using the Kids Sail Free discount.

A lot of us have been wondering the same thing. Lots of availability during Easter this year, and only a month left to fill rooms. I don't think there have been this many empty rooms during Easter in the past years, so there really isn't a common practice. The obvious thing to do would be to lift the blackout and offer some deals, but at this late date most people are probably booked elsewhere by now.

We went Easter week in 2009 and 2010. Both years there were no discounts that week. Both years with less than 45 days to go (already paid in full) they opened up the dates for Easter week. Both years I called and got a refund on my credit card.

Don't give up hope. Watch DIS daily and be quick to call.

Well that certainly gives hope, especially considering there are a ton of rooms available. I just called disney about an hour ago and the lady was really shocked at all the availability.
