Easter Crowds

I was thinking of planning a trip to WDW next year during the kids' Easter break, but was scared of the potential crowds. Looking at the Touring Plans website for this year, it is projecting level 10 crowds on Tuesday and Wednesday of this coming week, but only around 7 on Easter Sunday. Is this normal for Easter week? Isn't Easter weekend usually one of the busiest weekends of the year?

Projections are estimates.
Easter weekend is usually one of the busiest weekends of the year.

It can depend on how school Spring Breaks fall.

Will be there for Easter and will post when we return to let you know :) Happy touring plans is only projecting a 7 for the weekend!!

Easter is one of the busiest weeks of the year...and it is very busy. If I had a choice of dates, I would not go at Easter again. If I didn't have any other choice, then I would go and have a good time anyway! Plan your days, make your dining reservations early, be at the parks when they open and get the must do things done first. A busy day at Disney is still better than no Disney at all! :goodvibes

Since we are rope droppers, Spring break was great for us. We've been three times over spring break. The weather is beautiful and flower and garden is beautiful. If planned well you won't be bothered by the crowds. We did DTD on Easter. If that's the time you can go, do it! I don't like crowds but I'd do it again today if I could!

It could be that many vacationers have to be back at work/school the following Monday. That would make Easter, and even the day before, travel days. The whole week before then is busy due to all those spring breakers.

Thanks for all of the replies. The kids had an early spring break this year and we were able to sneak in a Disney trip the first week of this month. Crowds were great, but unfortunately their school is combining Easter break and spring break next year since Easter is early. Anyhow, we'll make due.

We're going over Easter next year :thumbsup2arriving on the 26th, which is DD's birthday and staying the week. Her spring break is March 21st-April 1st. I think having a good touring plan (hitting RD and being out by lunch) will make the parks very managable. Despite the increase in spring break crowd levels, spending DD's birthday and Easter at Disney plus catching F&G will be so much fun.

We went during Easter break the past two years, and if you plan well and don't have outrageous expectations, it honestly isn't that bad. The weather is nice and crowds are manageable.
