I haven't seen anything about the crowd level. We were there last year at Easter & it was a mob scene. How is it this year?

I was at the magic kingdom today and crowds were pretty average not really busy at all

My in laws were there this week, here's some photos they've posted,Magic Kingdom looked busy but Hollywood studios doesn't seem to bad to me? I've only ever been August and October so can't say how it compares to previous Easters :)

It's not even close to last year. We were just there this week, went to MK 3x, Epcot 3x, and HS 1x. We never experienced any waits. It was incredible. Everywhere we went, people were commenting on the low crowds and how many rides they've done. MK got crowded each afternoon like it always does no matter what season, sometimes we felt like it was overwhelming but it was mostly around parade time or right after parade time when everyone seems to go in the same direction.... Otherwise, all of our FP rides were walk-on and we did several other non-FP rides that were also walk-on. One ride we had to wait 30 minutes for was Test Track, but I think it was just our side because the other side moved right along while we had a delay. It was before the part where we make the cars. In any event, we were very happy with how many rides we went on this trip, more than any other trip we've had in the last 10 years.

I checked the Lines app a few hours ago and I was very surprised at the wait times, I would have thought they would have been much higher. There were waits on what you would have expected- TSMM,TT, Soarin', but other rides appeared to be walk ons.

Fingers crossed this holds out for our trip in a couple weeks.

That MK picture is scary though!!

We leave Saturday, our first day in the parks will be Sunday. Hoping the crowd levels stay low. We are anxious to see what the crowds will be on the 2nd for the (hopefully) opening of the new 7 dwarfs ride.

LOL - Maybe all those people that said there weren't going because of FP+ decided to NOT go to Disney after all. :thumbsup2

I too am hoping that the crowds keep thinning out. Our first park day is Sat, the 26th. I would love to have some walk on rides...especially since there is a heat wave predicted. Crossing my fingers that the weatherman is wrong on that one.

We also just got back from 4/11-4/19 trip thru all 4 parks we vised every day all week we only waited in line more than 40 minutes 3 times and those were for TSMM,Sorian and Test track as we chose to ride those multi time w/o FP+. All other rides were a breeze..even some with posted 60 Min wait time were 20-30 at worst. Rode many rides with 5 min or less Splash,Space Mountain, BTRR,Everest ect no issue for second time w/o FP+. Only park and time we saw slight issue was MK mid day..Rope drops till about 11am were all walk on lines..We had a great Easter trip best of many we have done at this time to date.

I was not there at all this week but yesterday I was checking wait times through out the day on my DME app... I was just curious to see what the crowds were like. I was surprised that most of the rides, except for the ones that are always long waits (like Soarin, TT and TSM) were 15-30 minutes. Is it because a lot of people already had their spring breaks and Easter was a little later this year maybe?

My friend arrives on Wednesday and I pretty much planned her whole trip. I have never been in April before, we are avid November goers when it comes to WDW, 2nd week in the month so I never really have to worry about crowds. I just told her to make the best of everyday there and seeing the smile on her daughters face is what really makes it all worth it, crowds or no crowds. She is telling her daughter when she wakes her up on Wednesday morning! She has no idea!!

Heat wave? :faint:

I hate trying to guess the weather so far in advance, but I hope they are wrong also. I wouldn't be surprised though, once we went when it was suppose to be cool and they had 100+ degrees every day we were there.

I did DHS, MK, and Epcot yesterday. DHS was a rope drop so we accomplished a lot and didn't really see huge crowds. From 9 to 11:30 we did RnRC, ToT twice, Toy Story, Great Movie Ride, and Star Tours - 3 of those were FP+. Headed over to MK for lunch and to see the new parade. Epcot to wander around the festival and sampled food at the booths. MK was probably the busiest park yesterday. We didn't ride anything at MK or Epcot because the standby waits weren't worth it to us.

Perhaps but I think more likely it is due to Easter being so late this year. In my area of the country public school spring breaks were the first week of April, not tied into Good Friday and Easter this year and college spring breaks were in March. So likely less people from the North taking their Disney trip over Easter week.

I was there Easter week of 2012 with our HS band because Easter and our school district spring break coincided and it was 9 and 10 crowd levels all week but doable.

I've read that this is a good possibility. That crowds around and after Easter *should* be thinner because of the late holiday. I leave on Saturday, so I hope it stays that way!

Easter was late this year.....

Massachusetts schools are off this week....but most of the country was off in March.

But whoever is planning next Easter be careful..... Florida schools have spring break in March and next year it's going to be the week before Easter in our county. I'm not happy about it !! But this year we had spring break March 24 week and the crowds were horrendous! They closed the MK on Wed? I've been checking the crowds this week and can,t believe it as they seem much lighter the our spring break in March When we went in 2011 the week before Easter I thought the crowds were reasonable and Easter was late that year too.

So when Easter is early you have the Easter and doing break crowds.....

Here's what amazes me about this thread. When there is any thread talking about longer waits - everyone starts screaming at FP+ and Disney. When people say lines seemed better this year, no one suggests that perhaps FP+ actually may help overall in crowded times ...

Does look like the spring break/easter crowds have been spread out more this year from mid March into April, especially given the reports of large crowds in recent weeks. But the crowd calenders were as high as 9 last week and still 8s for early this week. WDW extended hours last week when MK was open from 7am to 1p or longer each day clearly an attempt to redistribute and handle the larger crowds. Indication will be wait times at major rides later today as to sense of crowds post-easter weekend. Also as weather improves across the country the post terrible winter need to escape is likely declining.

I am wondering if this week will be worst. Many schools in New England are off this week for spring break- Maine, Mass, Vermont

Yesterday we were at AK for rope drop and we rode everything we wanted without FP's until about 1pm and then it got crowded, but not unbearable, hopped to EPCOT after 4 and it felt lighter than previous years. We only needed FP for Soarin' at around 8pm as standby was 70 minutes.

Yesterday was overcast and cool, IMO.
Today is very sunny and hot at 9:56am and the week is predicted to be 84-87 and sunny.

Typhoon lagoon and mini-golf today.

:cool1:
